What state was this in? I’ve done peacekeeping with 50501 and we are told not to do shit like that in training.

No matter what a peaceful protestor may intend, it’s police who are deciding when to use violence and whom to use it against—and nothing we saw this weekend indicates their violence was confined to those who were not “peaceful.”

The word anarchist has been pretty well tarnished by popular media, and the fact that most people don’t know (or don’t think they know) any anarchists in real life. Back when I was a liberal, I only knew better because a bunch of my forager friends were openly anarchists.

Everyone should try growing and harvesting their own food. It’s very fulfilling. But it’s not the solution here and we cannot individually bootstrap our way out of a collective problem.

I’m growing potatoes this year in bags and have done the math on this. On average a laundry basket or medium size box would yield 10-15 pounds of potatoes, which have about 400 calories per pound. You would need about 90 boxes/baskets in ideal conditions to grow enough for one person for one year.

Really not an expert on the matter, but it seems like to be effective as a social movement you need both non-violent people ready to negotiate and a radical flank prepared for other options. The Right isn’t winning atm because they stuck to decorum and condemned more radical actions.

I’ve worked in tech and all the bros I worked with had varying levels of emotional problems leading them down the rabbit holes of biohacking and fascism. The only sane ones had creative hobbies.

I am all for high school graduates having access to good paying, dignified careers. Before getting into a white collar field I worked blue collar and service jobs for years. I’ve been in community with these people and respect them. But if they believe this they are buying into a fantasy.

Interested to see if Fox flips on Trump or if they are in too deep now.

At this point I would take the Xanax snickers and truck stop drugs over most established politicians.

I’ve been shouting at other white collar workers that they are much more working class than they let themselves believe. I hope enough of them accept it.
