#EconSky I have followed financial markets long enough to have seen multiple bull and bear markets. One consistent fact throughout is that at the beginning of bear markets most financial commentators will say "its only a correction". This is NO correction, in my humble opinion.

The Fed's ability to move interest rates is solely confined to short term rates. If investors in the bond market, both foreign and domestic, decide that they need to be paid higher interest rates to offset risk in Trump's policies; the Fed cannot help the effect those higher rates have on consumers.
