It won't help, Republicans will always save themselves and others like them.

That whole exchange made me scratch my head.
No, Howard, your MIL will call you or your wife up and demand you track down her missing SS check. She's 97, that is what she will do. Good luck with that.

I loved the use of stuffed animals in the intro. It just made me smile seeing you there with the pups.
But then we got serious, which is appropriate.
Feeling bad for America. And yes, I have lost faith in the economy and in the country.

I was surprised as well!

Exactly! It's like Comey putting his thumb on the scale for trump in 2016 because he hated the idea of not only a Democrat being president but a woman.
After he did that, he met trump. Will we ever hear an apology from him for what he did? I doubt it.

And yet it's true. They have to protect their own countries, sources and intelligence. We are pipeline straight to Putin and who knows who else.
This is just another reason that maga and Republicans are stupid.

Thanks. I thought they were talking 25%. I can see I wasn't keeping up.

What are you smoking? We had a democracy. Now we have trump, he's the one that isn't preserving our democracy. This is on trump. Don't deflect to silly nonsense.

You are right slow isn't the right word. Administrative is the better word. And that is why no one will/can do anything. This has the blessing of trump. And he has immunity although his minions don't. But he's not going to have his DOJ arrest musk and the minions.
We are between a rock and hard pl

My fear about a march is that it plays into his hands and allows him to declare martial law sooner. We need to have a more crafty form of rebellion. Think sabotage not mass protest.

They will blame it on anything else but him. He is the cult leader, he is their daddy.... It's never his fault.

I think there has to be in 26. Then they will spend two years culling the voting rolls in red and red/swing states so that they can control the vote better.
Their goal isn't to not have elections but to have elections they can control.

If you want to get around twitter, just write it as stew-pid. The automods aren't smart enough yet to flag that.

There were no eggs at my grocery store today.
When Biden was president there were always eggs at the store. Just saying.

Expect at least months if not years.
It's easy to get into a recession, recessions flow into depressions. It's much harder to fix that then to make them.
It's going to get ugly.

Sadly, that is what some voters are going to need to make a change. We have so many low information/emotional voters. They need to get hit with a 2x4 to understand things.

Because woke was the entire problem. Glad we cleared that up.

Then he declares martial law and everyone ends up in any jail they can find.

James Carville (who annoys me a lot but sometimes he's right) says let trump keep punching himself in the face before you step in to fix things.
I think he's right here. The people who voted for him won't get it until they are impacted.

And they will believe him because it's never his fault.

And when he doesn't they will blame it on Biden/Harris and the commie/socialist DEI racist leftists.
It's their way, they must protect their cult leader.

It won't work. The market is ruled by nervous nellies who respond to the slightest rumor much less a tweet or a government announcement.

They didn't have any at my grocery store yesterday.
For the people who complain about how terrible it was under Biden, at least we could get eggs at the grocery store...
comment in response to

It's going to take some weeks for it play out. And it will take a lot of institutional failures coming to light (they will be doing their best to hide any of those.) The prices are going to rise sooner, but maga voters will blame Biden/Harris somehow.

Unlikely to see a revolt. It's just not in the national character. The Civil War disabused most Americans of revolutionary actions. We had one to start the country but it's now frowned upon. I'm not sure what is going to happen. But I'm tired of living in interesting times.

Add in the protest vote people to that list. But they can sleep well at night because their hearts are pure!

But it will be Biden's fault....
comment in response to

Its' going to get worse. But no one will revolt. It's not in our national character. That's a thing the French do.
For a country that was made by a revolution we have a predilection to never have another. The Civil War was the last one we had and we did not like it. I don't see if happening again

That is a really good question. Maybe they think another million dollar donation via his crypto-scam will get them a tariff dispensation. Otherwise, they have a goose that is well and truly cooked.

Then he declares martial law and suspends rights and everyone protesting goes into the private jails that they were holding space for migrants.
Have fun storming the castle!
It just plays into his hands. We have to be craftier and play a longer game. Think sabotage not confrontation.

Also foreign governments that mean us ill.
Those that don't mean us ill are just shaking their heads and safeguarding their own intelligence. We are not to be trusted.

As long as they are loyal. That is all that matters.
Seriously though, can you imagine the intelligence information they are going to come back with? The spies in other countries, even our allies, are going to have so much fun getting the US to pay for fantasy stories.

I still don't know why the guy who destroyed Twitter is considered someone you would want in charge of anything. Especially cost cutting. They can't get twitter to work right since they fired everyone.

They thought he was one of theirs.
On a slightly different topic, that is my theory on why so many suicides of LEOs on Capitol Hill after Jan 6. They couldn't square it that their guys would try to kill them. Sure if it was BLM, that they could get over, but these were their guys.

If I was going to silver lining it - yes, they are going to destroy the departments. That's bad. But 2026 and 28 elections may bring about change. The FBI could be rebuilt without so many conservatives/Republicans this time. But we will have lost a lot of intelligence assets. Its going to take years

The Senate D's got poleaxed by the voters. The Rs are in control. As the minority party they can do very little.
Now Senate R's they are all complicit and in on the plan. They may not know the whole plan but as pieces come out they are all in. I'd say they are dupes but they are in up to their 👁️👁️.

I'm pulling for a heart attack. A big one. Sure, we'd be stuck with Vance but he'd be fighting with the other Republicans and he doesn't have the pull that trump has on the cult.

It's the beginning of a slow coup. That is the problem. Slow coups require people fighting them to have imaginations. To extrapolate beyond what is happening to what could happen. Then you add in our innocent until guilty... we are screwed. They couldn't prosecute an actual violent coup...

I still don't believe there are any pee tapes because it would be too much of a thing to use against him. We aren't that lucky. Even if they did exist, his cult would never believe it. Even if they sat through it Clockwork Orange style.

I'm not blaming Biden here. He should have replaced Garland but he was hands off of the DOJ. To replace him would go against his beliefs in the systems. Although it would have been better for the country. Garland was someone more suited to SCOTUS than DOJ.
Jack Smith would have been good as head.
