You can’t create an inclusive space by telling people to just “not talk about it”and break bread with a bunch of bigots just because we have one common interest.

The next disk, “The Sewers of Chicago”, has the same effect. A theme?

I assume it was stained by the contents of the disk, “The Eamon Sewer System”.

If you compare to LA, SF, NY, it’s kinda comparable. But here there are more mid-sized cities that are affordable to pick up the slack. Less so in Canada, at least if you want to live somewhere with the good jobs, at least in my experience.

Housing costs are a major issue. Food costs too, but basically no one under 40 can afford a house. Saving up for decades for a down payment is not uncommon.
It’s better outside the major cities but then it’s also harder in other ways.

There is, obviously, no difference between the two, aside from differing amounts of error correction data coded into audio vs data tracks. But he just couldn't process it.

I knew someone who had an odd mental block about audio vs data CDs. He was utterly convinced that a copy of an audio CD had to be lossy. There was no way that he would accept that a copy could be 1:1. But he also fully accepted that a burned copy of a video game would be identical to the original.

Maybe “half-elf” is just more literal than we thought

In the old RPG Telengard, when your character died, it was permadeath unless their name was prefixed with “SV”. (Lotta characters named Sven)
So my headcanon is that Svideo is someone’s Telengard character.

Back in the day when it was new, gigabit Ethernet over copper (as opposed to fiber) was often referred to as “gigglebit”.

I can eat them mixed up with cake, but give them to me boiled, scrambled, etc, and I'm immediately ill. So I'm going to be doing a lot of baking in the near future.
I have tried to explain this to Linda, but she cannot understand how people can be allergic to eggs because women have eggs too.

I do not have time to do a DIY job myself, but it is getting to the point where I would seriously consider hiring an unqualified dude from the street to do the install with self-purchased equipment. No warranty but I could just…do it again if it dies and still be ahead.

Around here, the prices have gone sky high for both mini-split and traditional system installs. Maybe worse for mini-split but both are priced crazy.

I once got a note from the police saying that someone drove into the retaining wall in front of my house, and to contact detective such-and-such for the police report number to file with insurance, etc.
There wasn’t even a scratch on the wall. Solid wall I guess? 🤔

Also, Apple/Goldman Sachs? If you're going to block a fraudulent transaction the first 7 times they try, you might want to block the same transaction on attempt number 8.
I mean, only the legitimate cardholder would try 8 times in a row, right? Better let it go through.
Jesus Christ.
