It will NEVER happen. Someone will come up with some kind of lame rationale or sketchy "evidence" and the Republicans will grab it like a drowning man grabbing a life preserver.

I meant it would be a gift for the U.S. Not for Puerto Rico.

I wish that eagle had torn into him. Or that COVID got the job done on him.

On the recommendation of a young Viequense, i read Nelson Denis' War on All Puerto Ricans and I was horrified about what the U.S. has done to Puerto Rico and ashamed of my ignorance. I think that Puerto Rican statehood would be a gift and honor that the U.S. wouldn't deserve and we'd fuck it up.

My only experience in PR is a honeymoon in Vieques and Old San Juan. I was struck by the beauty of the land and the beautiful heart of its people. I'm a tourist who doesn't know enough to have a real opinion, so I can only voice my fears.

She looks like a mannequin at a wax museum.

I worry that the billionaire class will buy the most beautiful parts of PR, turn it into their playground, and drive its population further into servitude. Puerto Rico should be for Puerto Ricans, whether that means independence or statehood.

Although, to be honest, if one of us got hurt, then Fox would say we deserved it and then every goddamn right-winger would think it.

We'll definitely be recording everything.

I'm just so happy to be on a platform where there isn't an immediate flood of creationist garbage in response.

Everyone out there at Saturday protests, BE CAREFUL. Even here in my small southern town where there will be less than 200 protesters, there's a lot of social media activity saying we want to burn the town down and there are people planning to "counter protest." We're worried about getting attacked

Reported and blocked. Sounds like David Duke after 10 drinks.

Oh, f**k Carville. There is no such thing as an issue that the Republican Party and FOX "can't beef on." There's nothing that they can't straw man, distort, lie about, or obfuscate. NOTHING. I wish he'd STFU and go back to scaring crows out of the cornfield.

Best wide receivers. Best running backs. #1 defense in red zone. Caleb Downs is one of the best safeties in the country. They NIL'd their way into the best roster.
comment in response to post
Ohio State has the best roster in the nation. They severely underperformed most of the year. Now that they've turned it on, they'll be just about impossible to beat.

You are completely right. I've had arguments with conservatives who only want to pay for gov't programs that benefit them. That's when I have to say, it's not the United States of YOU, it's the United States of AMERICA, and with a nation of over 300M there will always be programs you don't like.

That really is it in a nutshell.

That's the perfect way of putting it.

And of course there will be a bunch of FBI agents who will think he's the greatest thing ever even though he's spent a lot of time shitting on the FBI.

Ironically, the consolation prize is a hell of an upgrade.

I was also trying to (perhaps too subtlely) imply that he's also a dumb enough SOB to make the mistake honestly.
comment in response to post
I actually think he did that to belittle both Trudeau and Canada.

It generally doesn't help to tell someone that aggressively ignorant and bewilderingly uninformed anything.

But we do it so well, and now we're champions!!

Sure! Except we're not going to expand the conference to include players from X and LiesSocial.

I like horns down because it annoys them so much. I also like it because the SWC and the Big 12 made it a personal foul and the SEC told Texas to pound sand if they didn't like horns down.

EXACTLY. Beautifully put.

Potentially, JS didn’t say this, but the statement remains true. People “vote against their self interests,” because they are dreamers who fully expect one day to hit to lotto, or have a million dollar idea, and will be wealthy. When that doesn’t materialize, then they rage, which is exploited.

Tell that to the super-rich who have been waging one since the Reagan Administration. A class war solved the monarchy in France.

No, it wasn't. "Muh rat to troll" isn't where you opened. But it is exactly where everyone knew you'd close. And now that you have, I get the joy of muting you. I would block you, but I wouldn't get the joy of seeing your impotent replies. LOL

Boo hoo, you made a trash heap of X and now you're mad because a different community has a sanitation department. You realize that your indignation only makes the experience better for us, right?
comment in response to post
1/ That wasn't your central point at all. You were trying to disguise yourself as a free speech advocate, which, of course, you're not. You're just another MAGA troll who's poutraged that you and your noxious buddies can't force your odious swill on everyone.
comment in response to post
And yet he and his GameDay buddies have enthusiastically participated in throwing helmets on the ground and shooting holes in opposing jerseys at Texas. A return to civility? So when is Pat McAfee getting fired?
comment in response to post
My wife says this is a great thing because now you can smell the MAGAts coming.

Now watch as all of his sycophants upend the bottles over their heads.

If there had been a Fox Ant News, the ants who watched it would have been voting for the grasshoppers.

They absolutely do care about the rules - when they benefit them.
comment in response to post
To give a real-world example, if I went into a Southern Baptist church and started shouting "F**k Jesus and this sh*t is fake!" during the sermon, no reasonable person would expect the church to allow me to keep shouting it because free speech. Would you expect that?
comment in response to post
Why wouldn't I lump in "disrupting an online community"? That is, after all, the focus of your objections. If your "disagreement" violates an online community's TOS, then you either didn't read the rules you were obliged to or intentionally broke them. In either case, banning is entirely reasonable.
comment in response to post
It's telling that you jump straight to that example. I'm sorry that you're so fragile as to consider a simple pronoun request annoying or harassing, but it's not. It's just a courtesy someone asks for that costs you nothing - and as such in no way impinges on your rights or oppressed you. Lol
comment in response to post
You know very well that the classic example involves shouting fire knowing there isn't one. Amazing how readily that MAGAs resort to playing stupid. But I think Giuliani and Alex Jones used your "logic" and have paid for it. Lol
comment in response to post
Not really. You don't have to have intention to be charged with violating someone's rights. And the initial focus of your argument - Libs of TikTok - certainly wasn't unaware of the TOS OF BlueSky. That's a double fail on your part. Lol
