the political media is, always was, a bunch of mean girl high school bullies who LOVE demanding the powerful dance for their amusement, they're ordering Democrats to ritualistically humiliate themselves, and damage the party by attacking another powerful person, weirdo sadism.

The district sizes are based on population. In red states, they can gerrymander districts to include enough rural/suburban voters to outnumber the larger urban/educated population centers. Look at district maps around the major cities.

Could someone put this on a billboard! 2 Party / Winner takes all / Electoral College System 2 Options in the Menu: Chicken or Fish Pick One! Amazing that journalists never seem to point that out.

Racism, mysogyny, and homophobia. 🤷

Unfortunately, they also create false narratives, and actively work to divide the left, allowing Republicans to win. And their rallies are just that... rallies for THEM, not for us or for Dems or anything. They aren't doing the work: registering voters, educating them about strategies to win, etc.

I think I was 7 the first time I was called a n___ lover. Moved to a rural area. Bullied by farm kids for being too cosmopolitan, it was cruel and brutal. Lonely and confused. I never fit in. Oldest brother - became maga, along with most of the folks from HS. Big price to pay for being different

I live right next to her district. We've got a great candidate and they have a Trump sycophant. This might be a red spot in a blue state, but we just flipped our district nextdoor. He's scared.

I feel angry because I wasted so many years 90s - 2010s mad at the Dems for not fighting harder, listening to Moore, Sarandon, Code Pink, OWS. I became "hip to the trick" by 2015 and Bernie. Still mad about 2000 😠

So agree! And it's a terrible diversion from the immense criminality occurring under their noses. Lawfare upheld the view that shutdown would let Trump's EO, illegal, kill everything, impound the funds. Including COURTS. And still influencers whine about Schumer!

I have been a Dem for longer. I'm GLAD they kept gov't open to prevent what in WRITTEN docs Trump and Musk salivated over during shut down: evisceration of all agencies, impoundment of their money, CLOSING THE COURTS. They now can't DO that without witnesses and court actions. I'm fighting fascists.

Thank you! We must stand together. I've been a loyal Dem since before these folks were born, and I am sick to death of seeing "influencers" rage tweeting against OUR leadership as if they know everything about it. Chasing every squirrel, getting folks worked into a lather over the latest outrage.

OFFS he not compromised but fearful. THIS IS UNCHARTED territory, and everyone is trying their best to keep leverage where we can. NOBODY can in shutdown. Start thinking anti fascism and stop thinking ordinary issues. This is not about being "compromise" but being strategic in the long fight.

What are you doing, Adam? I mean, what's the goal? Divide up our party? Fire our general in the middle of the battle? Then what? Who will you go after next?

You're battling your allies instead of your enemies.

The plan is never to flip seats and elect more Dems. Nope. It's always primary the Democrat that provoked your ire in a particular moment. Replace them with a shiny new model that you'll turn on the minute they do or say something you don't like. Lather, rinse, repeat.

My parents were FDR new deal Democrats. Dad's family was solid GOP. Mom's were racist Dems. Many of them switched in '68. My folks stayed and evolved. Big brother, though...The privileged white boy,Arrogant, Phony, conservative bully. Puh!

Oh yeah. Internalized racism, classism, and misogyny undergirds the party, and most are not even aware of it. I didn't really get it until 2016. That's when I realized my only real allies are Black women. I follow their lead now.

Y’all keep moving those goalposts. Last week, it was, ā€œDemocrats need to talk to the public to tell them what’s going on. Not enough people understand what’s really happening. Dems need to hold briefings and go to independent news sources.ā€ But when they actually do that stuff, you still complain.

You all have allowed this problem to linger for too damn long. The myth of the noble ā€œReagan Republicanā€ is proof enough of that. Y’all know he and his policies were racist, right? So if your dad was a self-proclaimed Reaganite…come on, I know you can get there…

Stop blaming Leader Jeffries for the deliberate actions of your cousins and siblings and parents. That Black man didn’t have a damn thing to do with their decision to run screaming into the arms of white ā€œsupremacy,ā€ and he doesn’t have the power to fix this mess. It’s. Up. To. The. Whites.

The party didn’t fail you. The Obamas didn’t fail you. The Clintons didn’t fail you. Kamala sure as hell didn’t fail you. The white electorate did what it has done since Nixon—it voted Republican. Some of you are determined to deflect when presented with that fact. But it’s still a FACT.
