I actually like reminding people that the Palestinians are Semitic too. Many descend from Jewish families that remained after the Roman diaspora. Languages change & creating an awareness of a 2nd possible & more inclusive sense of the term might help create a sense of shared suffering to build on.

And yeah, Netanyahu is the most murderous anti-semite since possibly that Austrian guy who ran Germany.

Yeah. Thanks for bringing that up. Feel odd using anti-semitisim here in the narrow sense. Saddest part - a significant part of the Palestinian people are actually descendents of Jewish families who remained in the middle east & ultimately converted. They're our cousins for pities sake.

Actually, there are. Just like there are Sinetic, Turkic & Tamil peoples. Semitic peoples are those speaking Semitic Languages. Look it up. Arabs are a Semitic people to, as are Berbers & Egyptians (an odd one as Egyptian Lang is extinct though the people retain their history & identity as such)

WTF? I'm not a country & I support a free Palistinian state. This is anti-semitism plain & simple.

Coolest Nobel Laureate on Bluesky (or any other social media)! When you flex your arm, that's really how the molecule folds in situ under mechanical pressure?!? Awesome. Always good to listen to wife but I would have gotten it the second I got the phone call & shown it off in Stockholm.

No pay. Just an idea thought out-loud. But maybe a contest & then a change.org petition and vote!

Yeah! Just like the three layer logo with stars only a stupid little rodent running off a cliff. Maybe we should make it a contest & then put up a change.org petition to make it the official logo. What do you think. You're the artist? 🤔

Who cares. Trump didn't really mean anything he said either.

As a Jew, I would sue because the Protestant tradition always divides the text into 10 parts differently than the Jewish tradition & the difference is significant from the Jewish perspective.

caused most of the concern at a few elite universities. They do not usually become long term citi, ens like grad students who are brought here on what is essentially a work study visa. @washingtonpost.com & others should focus on the smaller undergrad group. www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...

No right to work. Strict restrictions on staying only so long as registered & an expectation that they will not engage in political activity because the terms of their visa specifically restrict them from activities that are usually associated with a foreign agent. It's this second group that has

economy. They mostly focus on work in the labs that sponsor them since that sponsorship, like an H1B work visa, determines their stay. The other group of students are undergrads. Generally wealthy foreigners, often spoiled, sometimes previously agendized. Their visa's are highly provisional:
