Harlock is a space pirate and a very cool one at that, he's written by Leiji Matsumoto who's also part of the minds behind Space Battleship Yamato/Star Blazers (the inferior title, imo)
Harlock's ship is called the Arcadia and depending on the version of it, it has a sword/knife battering ram.
