I have 2 kids (neurodivergent), <10. Also an autistic SAHM. It took me 4+ years to recover from autistic burnout from a masters program, as well as PPD (2nd kid is 3).
Life in such a public position isn't plausible for me. Definitely not in the moment, likely not ever. I do not have the bandwidth.

I live in Florida. There are no better options. 🤷♀️

Yeah. As a scientist, I've always heard that BS was seen as "better" than a BA.
I'm definitely not saying BAs don't have their place though. Learning how to communicate with others is something BA programs seem tend to teach more than BS programs do, and that seems to be invaluable in real life.

It kind of reminds me of "C's get degrees". 😜🤷♀️

I mean, maybe. But "gentleman's degree" isn't normally meant in a... well, particularly nice way. It seems to basically mean "people with a lot of family money don't necessarily need the grades/education and can just live off their family money".

Then get better people to represent us. Perhaps you should run. (I'm not kidding. 🤷♀️ We need people who care about others.)

Yeah, my mom was normal once, too. You're not alone in the "MAGA-Family Anonymous" group. 🫠

Perhaps. The reasons people don't vote are varied. Apathy, inability to make it to the voting places, etc.
But the point is, less than a third of the American population actually wanted him to be President enough to take time out of their day to go to the polls and vote for him.

*32% of the American voting population voted for him. Less than 50% of Americans who *did* vote, voted for him.
I feel like that distinction is important, because, though we know they *should* have voted, they did not. But they also did not vote for Trump.

The KKK, racism, sexism, misogyny, Christian nationalism, etc etc etc, were not problems before Donald Trump became President? 🤔
These things have always been here. The other commenter is right. He's just taken all of the anger and the hatred for others that was already in the US & blown it up.

I like America like I like my soft drinks.
With no ICE.

You need a volunteer? There's probably nothing more important at the moment than getting scientific work out there to the public so they know what we do.
(Also, just had a friend who does really great murals move up to PA, in case you need more people with ridiculous amounts of art supplies. 😜😂)

Look, this sounds like a lot of fun, and I have a background in Serious Science. Any chance you're hiring? 😜😂❤️

Yeah, but so does the Pope, and they don't live forever either. 🤷♀️

It makes me wonder.. are you sure it wasn't the bunny from Monty Python reincarnated? 🧐

No one supports Hamas, and going straight to that is disingenuous at best.
Hamas != the Palestinian people, just like al Qaeda != the Iraqi people, or the Ku Klux Klan != southern US people.
It's possible to be against both terrorism committed by Hamas, and the *purposeful murder of children*.

Which, clearly, is the whole point here. 🙄🫠

The venn diagram of white nationalists and white evangelical christians who hate everybody but "love Jesus" is precisely a circle. Bigotry in the name of white salvation. A tale as old as time.

I previously worked as a scientist (state gov). I've always wanted to work for the Park Service. Before the election, I was hoping to look into it with a possible upcoming move near the Smokies (after I took a few years off with my now-3 y/o son). And now... no way I would work for the feds. 🫠

I don't remember it being particularly minty tasting though, I think it's the jade citrus mint tea that they use. I don't really notice it (and I do like mint 😜). I think it's more of a honey/citrus flavor than anything.
Were you able to get one? What did you think?

I think it's just the human reaction to a ridiculously huge hat, no matter whether it's a MAGA hat or not. 😂

Holy shit, Dr. Andrews. As a scientist and the wife of an ER NP (and a fellow Bluey lover 😜), and someone who's terribly sick of the recent anti-science rhetoric, this is an absolutely *fantastic* campaign.
I'm not in SC (FL + a place in NC), but I would vote for you if I could! ❤️

Oh! I also swear by "Medicine Ball" drinks from Starbucks (aka "honey citrus mint tea" if they stare blankly at you 😂).
Lots of things that are known to help with being sick.. warmth + lemonade (vitamin C!) + tea + honey.. it might not FIX you, but it'll usually make you feel somewhat better).

Feeling any better yet? 🧐😜❤️

Not wild or weird, but vitamin C + zinc is commonly recommended. 🤷♀️
Also, chicken soup (vegetable soup could work fine too, if you are vegetarian/vegan ❤️ just the vitamins/minerals/hydration that helps anyway).

There are pictures of them together. There are many articles about Chris going to El Salvador. Why would a Democrat senator lie about seeing Abrego Garcia, or make fake pictures of it?
It's highly unlikely you will ever see Abrego Garcia in person anyway, will you then never trust when he's back?

Chris Van Hollen saw Abrego Garcia in mid-April.

I don't...know if it's real? 🧐 But it is very cool.
Super freaking cool if it is real, but the internet seems to think it is not? 🤷♀️
