This looks very exciting! Have a lot of faith in Gunn & his team so optimistic about this one.

"I can't start a business without robbing a bank for seed money so robbing banks should be legal"

Get this game on your wish lists, it's going to be an amazing title. I'm confident it'll be one of the year defining releases of 2025.

A great thread! Game writing is not just writing cinematics. It's collaboration with every other department to convey story in all aspects of an experience.

#Okami2 director Hideki Kamiya was asked by a fan if the announcement trailer was made with AI "Don’t ask such pointless questions, you idiot… Go away"

sesame street isn't supposed to make money. the post office isn't supposed to make money. not everything is supposed to MAKE MONEY

The 40k Secret Level episode was great! Blur are masters of their craft. Excited to see what more this partnership yields.

This response from @sbearbergman.bsky.social to @hildur.bsky.social’s post has changed my week— it is so wholesome, and human, and so the energy we all need right now. And Kerstin Langenberger, the naturalist who posted “I am on my way with the necessary equipment”? This woman is the hero we need.

suspected killer: here's a manifesto where i explain my motives. health insurance companies' modus operandi mutilates and kills people media: the killer was radicalised through assassin sim among us and a firaxis internship where he was trained to kill 'bugs'

What a trailer! Cannot wait.

Path of Exile 2 is very good! Had a blast tonight. Definitely feel the souls like comparisons. Bosses are not push overs & packs of enemies will kill you if they can corner you. Loving the mercenary class & the game is gorgeous. Oozes atmosphere.

Oh, hell yes! Cannot wait for this.

If you're looking for fellow Narrative folks in game dev, Z has created some great starter packs in multiple volumes.

Annual reminder that It's a Wonderful Life received mixed to middling reviews on its initial release, losing its studio half a million dollars, in case you've gotten "doesn't suit our needs at this time" lately.

Happy Path of Exile 2 day to all who celebrate! Congrats to the team on reaching this point & best of luck with the rollout. Can’t wait to play! Now to figure out what class I’m going to do first…

Oh no! I can already hear my wallet screaming. This is a very exciting reveal.

So excited to finally be able to experience this. Don't forget to preorder this game by a bunch of very talented folks who deserve your support.

my dude just longing for juicy waves

Stuck in a scene? Do what the pros do: use brackets. Write what the story beat is: [Our hero gets out of the fight through clever means] Then just keep writing what happens after. Maintaining momentum is key to getting the most words on the page. Meanwhile solutions often present themselves later.

There is literally no rule that says you have to write every word in order. You could write a whole novel backwards and no one will ever know unless you tell them. Get the words down in whatever order works best for you.

As a writer, you should never give up. People say "this script won't write itself" but maybe it's just those people haven't left it long enough. Leave it alone. Believe.

The flash forward opening is a tired, lazy trick meant to serve as a cold open and promise the audience of the story to come. Not only is it wildly overused, but it often spoils real tension and serves to remind the audience that they're not watching what they were promised for quite some time.

hey jsyk I’m live most afternoons on Twitch with video games and tomfoolery ☺️

Finished Arcane tonight & loved it. Nothing compares to S1, but I thought it delivered where it needed to. I’m sad this is all we are getting, but I’m grateful for what we have. Kudos to all involved! You did it.
