In Las Vegas, I'm like a woman in the Benidorm Fest crowd. I'm the only one here. Also following the Oscars and watching world drama.

Why now? Why did they wait a month? I'm not really a fan of the Maltese song this year, buy they time for objecting has passed

It makes me wonder what is really happening. I know Sweden is very musically diverse, so why is their national song festival so bland and one note? They should have such a more diverse set of songs, but they don't. It's confusing to me and makes me want to rant

I agree. And Thomas G:son is a problem of his own. He's written a few good songs, but nowhere near as many mid songs. That's another problem for Melodifestivalen. So many of the same people are writing 4 or 5 different songs in the competition.

That's a valid point I didn't think of. It did seem like anytime Mans is mentioned these days or cos with an eye roll. Kinda like "This guy again?"

On the other hand, we have KAJ, with a fun song that isn't pandering, it's just fun, and feels like they're just having some fun together and we're along for the ride. I'd rather have a fun ride than be preached at. I know Mans is 98% confirmed as the winner, to me, that is the problem. END RANT

It's like when a politicians comes to my town [Las Vegas] and opens by saying "Las Vegas is the greatest city int he world!" even though we all know it's not. I guess the word I've been looking for is 'Authenticity.' It feels so plastic and fake, like he's desperate to be liked by everyone

Why have a competition is the winner is already predetermined? But what makes me most angry about this is the fact that Mans and his team really did not write any good lyrics. The line "Beautiful people like you" is what kills it for me. It's so pandering.

This year, it seems that Mans has had this in the bag since before the participants were announced. I know the correct term isn't "nepotism" but the feeling is the same. Mans is the favorite to win because he's Mans, which means the bar for him to win is so much lower than everybody else.

What if i told you EU membership isn't needed to join Eurovision and that the EU and EBU are to separate organizations...

I guess they had a lot of fun in Nashville over the summer

I wrote a 2 page essay on why it should represent Sweden instead of Mans. That should say something because I graduated from college 9 years ago.

Slightly weaker than last year, hoping the internal selections bring up the quality. But still good. Love 🇦🇱 this year, 🇫🇮 still in the golden era

I'm hoping Scarlet can pull off a win

Welcome to the Eurovision cult! And as for why Tommy Cash is trying now, it might have to do with Käärijä and Joost Klein going to Eurovision in recent years and finding a ton of new fans.

I just joined in. I only saw the recap and was surpassed by how off the vocals were. Maybe they're just pushing for Athena?

Yeah, it's already started with them trying to go with the sympathy vote with the artist they chose

Like a parady vs. the original One is Scream, the other is Scary Movie, but only one is remembered as a classic

And I don't say this to be mean or hateful, I'm just saying as a longtime Eurovision fan, having seen the game change so much over that last decade, the "Haha, she said a bad word" gimmick isn't going to be as much of a pull as it would have been some years ago.
