Strange to see Labor set the agenda for once. They’ve been digging into Dutton for being against Medicare for long enough that now they’ve announced more funding for it, Dutton has to support it or be proven to be against it. What is this, Labor on the front foot? I’m not used to that.

Spoilers for a cameo in Captain America: Brave New World. . . . . . I love Bucky’s cameo, the entire scene was great. Shot like the scene from The Winter Soldier with Nick Fury in hospital, and equal parts poignant and humorous. Also, I like Bucky’s “I love you, man” at the end.

Justin Trudeau going out on a high, domestically. Between uniting Canada in the face of Trump and his tariffs - to the point that interprovincial trading boarders are being reaccessed and maybe removed - and this, good stuff. Foreign policy wise, defending Israeli war crimes, he can get stuffed.

Captain America Brave New World is good. I don’t normal rate films out of 10, but to sum up my views quickly, saying ‘a solid 7/10’ does the job. Good overall, not flawless, and I’m open to accept people’s constructive criticisms (not the bigoted “I don’t like a black Captain America” nonsense).

After seeing it again, I feel I can be a bit more specific. The CGI most of the time is passable - and necessary when it’s a dog fight with fighter jets and Captain America - but I stand by my criticism of the lack of location shooting for the emotional beat after the final battle. 1/2
