An account I follow on IG reposted a video where someone promoting an event at the AC said they were excited about an event at the Anvil Centre in Vancouver. 🫠

It's not about leaving Twitter. It's really the Lorenzis we acquired along the way.

There are more than 7,000 islands in the Philippines. All of them are beautiful. I haven't seen every single one but I just know this is a universal truth.

🇵🇭 How you hang the Filipino flag matters: in times of peace the flag's blue side is the topmost side. In times of war the flag's red side is the top most side (when hung horizontally).

My birthday is on the same day that Lapulapu is believed to have led his fellow people in the Battle of Mactan, a battle in which they were victorious over the Spaniards. Lapulapu and the other warriors are believed to have pushed Spanish colonization in that area back significantly.

It was journalism done, as much as possible, in person. Connecting to try to understand the stories we were given permission to tell...it wasn't just reporting. The Anchor was all heart; the good, the bad, and the ugly in the community. 3/x

While I've moved on I have a lot of respect for the work being done by reporters who take the time to comb through facts, do their due diligence & do their best to get to know people in the community. I think why The Anchor was embraced so quickly was because it was not journalism from a desk. 2/x
