1. A few years ago, people like me were widely attacked in the media for “declinism”. How could we fail to see that we were heading into a capitalist utopia, in which everything would keep getting better? This is a thread about what we could see that our critics could not. 🧵

I don't feel folks understand Bluesky fully, having dealt with the punishment/reward system of the other socials. There is no algorithm here. If you don't repost it, few will see it. So I am not sure I can use this place as a base for my journalism. Needs a lot more community involvement yet.
