surely this from amorim today suggests it's not happening (at least not with his blessing)
comment in response to post
absolutely. pretty quick when he got going too. no question he'd also thrive in modern football

i think it's almost certainly true that if given a choice of one of the two in their prime, most current teams would opt for henry

yeh that makes sense. henry certainly foreshadowed the growing prominence of athleticism, which isn't to denigrate his technique or football intelligence of course. I'd say a comparison with parallels in some ways as a utd fan is ronaldo and eric

fascinated to see arguments for henry. suspect age might be a big factor in shaping perspectives. zidane was other worldly in a way henry wasn't imo and as reductive as it might seem, i think doing it in the big moments is the clincher - which the 2002 goal vs leverkusen encapsulates perfectly

as always, it really depends on your definition of great but I can't think of one under which that view really makes sense

it's an upsetting prospect but I'm hopeful it'll be ok and this is just the trauma speaking

yeh exactly. ruthlessness is always potentially problematic, but there's a deeply troubling unsophistication to it in this case. i just worry that amorim tires of it eventually and walks

even if you remove the human side of it, seems a pretty bizarre decision just in a cynical business sense to leak the notion that the "feeling at the club is that his time is up"
comment in response to post
yeh that would be sad, although not sure there will be many clubs willing/able to match his wages so suspect that might not happen for a while

yep. i guess we sort of knew this but increasingly feels like rash is really not a great fit for an amorim side and that we're probably witnessing the start of his phasing out :(

so bruno and mount as 10s?
comment in response to post
starting to convince that his lack of obvious physicality might not be the limiting factor we feared. so good in duels

he had me at "the earth will still turn, the sun will rise again" (plus rashford at centre forward in training)

hakimi for united, although i guess we can't definitively say that will never happen

yeh i bet. saw him a few years ago at wireless but quickly realised pretty much everyone else there had come to see the weeknd. so upsetting. wish I'd been there last night with the real heads. bet ny state of mind went off 😌

looks incredible. did he do Live at the Barbeque?

oh that's blues brothers for me. one of those we happened to have recorded on an old vhs, and which then become the source of regularly used quotes among me and my siblings that still get wheeled out to this day

must be a bit worried you've joined *too* early there
