Very much so. And Trump is almost certainly a Russian asset on top of it.

Yeah, I feel the same.

Oh, fuck off, will you?

« The sin of empathy » ? WTF is that insane bullshit?

Fear of panic and trying to prevent panic drive way too much in public health. Your job is not to keep people calm, it's to keep people healthy.

Saint Ciboire... 🤯

Because that would require mitigation actions. Much easier to put our heads in the sand.

A bully cannot be negociated with, nor truly placated. One has to stand up to them, that is the only viable option.

I don't see any state - esp. "blue" ones - going it alone. But coalitions, that could interesting... Like CA-OR-WA, or several northeastern states together. Of course a practical problem is the rural/urban split of the Dem/GOP vote within these states...

The worst. Basically a textbook example of malignant narcissism.

I agree. And for Ukraine specifically, it is quite obvious that in Trump's eye, the way to end things is to ensure Russia wins. I'm sure he despises Zelenskyy, doesn't give a rat's ass about Ukraine and would rather see both cease to exist. So, fully aligned with Putin there.

It's a great way to end things, if by "things" you mean western civilization as we know it.

Oof, sorry to hear you & yours had to go through this. Great news that she's now well enough to go home.

Great writeup, thanks Matt!

Y'a rien à écrire.

Yep, he was great today! It seems his mediocre performances with us lately were largely because he was shoe-horned into a role that doesn't suit him. But at the same time I can't get past his abysmal work rate; most times he just seemed... disinterested ? Anyway, glad he was able to rebound.

*its natural resources 🙄
comment in response to post
I don't think he's getting played: he's willfully collaborating with Putin, and doesn't give a damn about Ukraine - it's natural resources are another matter. If anyone is getting played, it is the people who think these are actual negotiations held in good faith.

I had a similar thought: Schlupp has more influence on the match than Olise so far. I don't think this'll last, but we'll see.
