Feel I learned about myself: For the second one, the stakes were high. I wanted to impress people I respect with something novel, and outside a comfort zone. Pleased I'm able to deal with setbacks now. Need to keep challenging myself.

Hey! Great question. We use Dropwizard and have no plans to move away from Java.

We use NodeJS and Java to build our microservices and our code is visible on Github. If you've worked with any other technology that’s not Java or NodeJS, do consider applying: we’re proud of our track record of developing people in their career as well as what we ship for our users!

You really do dislike Bath don't you. Noted.

I don't believe you can't recommend a single nice thing. I need to pick Bath because it's the mid point between me in the north(er-not-the-actual-north) and friends in the south where I don't drive. Don't scope creep, I can do Bristol next quarter 😜

Who needs to see a Coca Cola lorry to start things, eh?

I used to be a product manager of library services. it's not the most efficient, but yes each local authority enters into a consortium to share the costs and the stock.

I definitely wasn't talking in Welsh (I'd like to, but can't) which is partly why I think this experience is hilarious 😂

I know I was treating it like a conversation with a human. this is my fault but my god. its just a tech demo and nothing useful. So eager to please instead of listening. not my need.

Used to live very close to there. Do they still do the big bonfire night event there? I used to like that.

oh. I'm not the hero at all. It's all kept running by a lovely developer who's been on pay since (nearly) the start.

No. We never got around to automating it. Updating is a manual job that doesn't take long because our internal reporting stuff generates with a click of a button, but the product pages are a static website.
