Same - for years I thought I was falling behind even though I could never find a use case for delivering text and images via spicy DHTML. Very glad I missed a decade of breaking things.

When I first moved to London 25 years ago I found the Evening Standard deeply weird, like I had no idea who it was aimed at as it was not 98% of Londoners. A mix of bland national news, billionaires' kids in nightclubs, and about 8 pages of million quid houses. Brian Sewell was good though

Indeed lots wrong, but so much good. Yesterday I was in Liverpool, rural Kent and London, via Rail, Tube, Car and Lime Bike (long day) and there is so much going for this country.

The central argument here seems to be that eyes are hard working and ears are lazy. I was not aware of the effort scale of senses. Where does smell fit in?

First of all, I hope the rest goes well. As a fellow believer in digital communities I’ve been getting involved in local communities recently and loving it. & thinking how digital can play a part. Networked neighbourhoods, community tools and training, still trying to figure it all out myself tbh
