I've seen three of my close family die of cancer. All knew they were dying and all died under medical care. My mother died in pain in a hospital, my brother died in an over medicated state in a hospice and my father died with dignity at home. The answer to the problem is better end of life care

So Scunthorpe blast furnaces get saved and MP happens to be at risk from Reform UK whereas Port Talbot gets massive job cuts and can no longer produce virgin steel despite excellent transport links and location in a natural deep water harbour. Unfortunately Port Talbot is a safe Labour seat though.

The two mayors in the region have been a major reason why Bristol is in the state it's in.

And democracy is a winner with a good vote turnout. When you turn out to vote, the fascists always lose. Complacency is the enemy of democracy.

Lovely use of Helvetica there at the end. A lazy comedy writer might have gone for comic sans.

It does seem rather depressing that we shouldn't at least try to get the super rich to shoulder the burden. Even if it raises what may be thought of as a pittance, if it at least raises some children above the poverty level isn't it worth it?

Although not strictly a wealth tax, the UK had in the 1960s a top rate of income tax of around 90% and a thriving economy for most of the decade.

Thames Water is effectively insolvent. All its major investors have written off their losses. The only reason we are not nationalising the company's assets and taking over with a state run debt free business is it will harm the hedge funds that are controlling the company. Let's bankrupt em.

A solution to the issue of the number of private hire vehicles clogging up the roads may also need to be found. Why do we see so many private hire vehicles registered by South Gloucestershire operating in the city? Does Bristol council even know how many vehicles are operating?

This shows Starmer's fundamental lack of knowledge of advances in AI and automation. The aim should be to increase productivity and improve performance without extra spend. If you cut costs through automation you either maintain the current poor productivity or you make it worse.

It's a good addition to the landscape up there. We need to do something though about the idiots that keep removing the catches from the gates.

Justice via a rope is a false justice. We are more civilised in Europe.

There's already a warrant for his arrest by the international criminal court. If he sets foot in any country that recognises the court he will be arrested. The USA (neither democratic led nor republican) does not recognise that court.

There's a common question people ask about time travel. "If you could go back in time would you kill Hitler as a baby?". I wonder if in years to come the question will change to refer to Trump and Vance.

Wasn't this a feature of his previous tenure too? He makes wild statements, the stock market tanks and then some weeks later the statement doesn't come true and stock market recovers. It's almost like he's doing it deliberately so some can buy very cheap and sell later. 🤔🤔

Quick question. On average only 20-30% of our electricity production comes from fossil fuels so why is the price 100% dependent on fossil fuels prices?

I also quite liked Mike Myers's version of him on this week's Saturday Night Live cold open. As with all bullies they hate it when we laugh at em.

Stephen Fry agrees with you. He called them fascists on UK breakfast television today. From now on I'll be referring to them as the fascist regime in control of the USA. www.independent.co.uk/tv/stephen-f...

In the UK we got rid of Thatcher through mass mobilisation against the Poll Tax. It's possible to do it.

Ha ha ha. The perfect response to my post from an AI bot who has scraped the wrong info on Lansbury from the Internet.

Connie. I'm really sorry to say this but the rest of the world is laughing at America at the moment. We had the same problem when Boris Johnson was our PM. My advice is to humiliate him, laugh at him, bullies hate to be ridiculed
