L’équipe de la Ligue junior A des Maritimes de Bathurst s’appellera le Lightning de Chaleur. Ce sont les Red Wings de Fredericton qui déménageront au Centre K.C.Irving en septembre

Nice work by @thejeffdouglas.bsky.social Elbows up. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁🍁 youtu.be/1LzhCLzfJFg?...

i had to tell a newcomer today that no, this weather doesn't mean winter is over i encouraged them to enjoy it to the fullest while it's here drink your coffee outdoors wear a light jacket take out the earbuds so you can hear the birdsong but don't change your tires / put away your shovel

I won something called a "Reessayez SVP", which I assume is some type of european car. Sweet!

12 Janitors at Alderney Gate are about to lose their jobs because the #HRM decided to go with a cheaper non-union contractor. Emergency rally taking place at Halifax city hall, tomorrow at 6:00pm. HRM needs to do the right thing and make sure these workers’ jobs and contract are upheld! #halifax

I hope the child is making a recovery today. This town needs a reset. The regularity of severe violence against children and young adults here means something is very wrong with our societal priorities. We need politicians willing to acknowledge and tackle the violence epidemic. Not more police.

Shubenacadie Sam is now in Witness Protection.

I guess Halifax just gave up on snow clearing.

Today: sunny & cold. Onshore snow & blowing in gusty NW winds (worse in CB). A very messy storm begins Sunday afternoon. Once again changes to ice pellets S Maritimes, then freezing rain followed by rain NS. Total 20-40mm water equivalent: all snow N half NB; a sloppy mess NS. Back to snow Monday!

It's icy-sidewalk days like today in #Halifax/#Halisky that make me kinda regret not buying these boots when I saw them in #Reykjavik #Iceland back in 2018. (half-joking)

Looks like a somewhat messy day setting up for Thursday for most of NS. Halifax area likely looking at 5-10cm snow, changing thru ice pellets and freezing rain to showers /drizzle in the evening. A messy commute home for sure. Turning colder again Friday #Halisky #nsstorm

Accumulating snow all done for HRM. Just cleared around 10cm of fluff from my driveway. Easy shoveling and not too cold or windy at the moment. #Halisky #nsstorm

“Why do I need NOAA? I’ve got a weather app.” Is equivalent to asking “Why do I need farms? I can go to the supermarket.” www.noaa.gov/about-our-ag...

The buses in HRM are indeed on Snow Plan. In case you need to go anywhere via Transit.

Likely a result of yesterday's #Halifax sidewalk-clearing approach of "meh, high of +2 coming up so it'll all melt"

I've seen a lot of people saying something along the lines of "what is happening in the US could never happen here" followed by their reasoning, which is usually "oh we have a different parliamentary system and our PM isn't like the President we don't have executive orders" etc. /1

More like *Under* Water St bike lane, amirite?? #BikeHfx

A message from bruised Future You: Seize a moment today to scrape your walk, steps, driveway, etc. down to bare pavement.

Just received a free donair from King of Donair because it was National Weatherperson’s day. I love this town!!

Keeping an eye on the forecast for a potential snow storm this Super Bowl Sunday in #Halifax @weathernetwork.bsky.social

Heads up, Nova Scotia - looking like a major snowfall event shaping up for Sunday, our first pure Nor'easter of the winter so far. Only uncertainty is how close the track will be to the coast, which will ultimately determine how much we get. #nsstorm

Winter protesters.

Still one day to go but, with an average January high of -1.6 C and a mean daily temperature of -5.2 C. January 2025 will go down as the coldest in 10 years. Jan 2015 avg high -1.7 C, avg mean -6.8 C. Data from YHZ.Normal Jan avg high is -1.2 C, and avg mean is -5.7 C. #nsstorm #halifax

I'm thinking the roads will be awful tomorrow. Currently very wet and full of mush. Set to freeze overnight.

As my councillor @lecwhite.bsky.social probably already knows, downtown #Halifax sidewalks are currently a SLUSHY mess which will rapidly become an ICY mess tonight. Pedestrians beware! #Halisky

Roads are crazy out there #Halifax. Bi-hi is barely ploughed (as opposed to ploughed barely) and I just saw someone decide to drive the wrong way down Connaught to get around traffic. Yikes!

And now is the time to shovel and salt before the temperatures drop!! 🥶 #nsstorm #halifax #hfxtraffic

This round of snow is done for HRM - it's +2 to +3 so get out and clear it now before the temperature plummets tonight and more snow cones overnight. #nsstorm

🔭 We're closely monitoring the recently discovered asteroid #2024YR4. The #asteroid has an almost 99% chance of safely passing Earth in 2032, but a possible impact cannot yet be entirely ruled out. 2024 YR4 is estimated to be between 40 m and 100 m wide.
