It feels like that device must've been used on a soap... but can't think of any that actually have
Yrs ago my friend and I wrote a primetime pilot/bible. It was a soap within a soap. We def played off things like that. But it was a loving parody of the genre, so that was the point lol

I was wondering where you went! Deleted that other place forever ago, and am done w/ it, but I do hope you'll consider posting here too
It does feel a bit quiet here these days... maybe we can all make a concerted effort to re-engage? Even if we're weeks behind ππ€£
Perhaps use an alt tag? #GH8 π

Wow. Ok. They were acting like he's been in a coma for like a decade! π
Wait, but he didn't know Ciara was married with kids and the boy looked like he had to be at least 3... I actually didn't know she had kids either lol. Did they jump forward or something? #Days

I'm a spotty #Days viewer - started ~1986, stopped during devil Marlena, returned mid-00s, finally quit sometime in past 5yrs (just can't w/ Ron lol)
Tuned back in this week for John/Marlena, but OMG Bo/Hope actually had me crying today! πππ
Just how many yrs has he been unconscious tho? lol

Only longterm major character I can think of is Felicia... and maybe Lucy - tho she had surprise cousin-siblings
The Qs, Webbers, Baldwins, Scorpios, Spencers, Jeromes, Corinthos, and Cassadines are always having surprise siblings (and children/parents) show up. Even Trina got a surprise dad! π #GH

Here's a better question, is there a single character on #GH who HASN'T had a secret/unknown sibling appear?? π
And for the sake of this premise, I'd include characters who were supposedly aware of sibling but were on canvas for yrs and never mentioned them, even to loved ones - ie. Robert/Mac

This is PodLaura. She no longer has a real POV, or really any agency, unless it's to prop their latest stupid plot point or awful character π
But I can't imagine realLaura caring at all about Ace's trust fund. She's never cared about the Cassadine money or legacy so she def wouldn't care now #GH

I've decided the only acceptable exit for grandpa Sonny is six feet under... w/ zero fanfare and an unmarked grave
So sure, I'd be fine w/ that, esp if Gio is collateral damage bc of something Sonny did (as usual)
But BLQ and Dante didn't do anything to deserve it, so he can live lol #GH

If we're lucky we'll get at least a solid 6mos of him refusing to have anything to do w/ the violin ππ€
But bigger picture, I'd love to see Gio not play ever again... UNTIL he decides to accept a conservatory scholarship in Europe, never to be heard from again lol #GH

We need to gif it!
I'd bet SO many parents felt that deep in their souls, after enduring countless hrs of their child practicing a musical instrument they were doomed to never master π

For sure. They always do bare min character dev. And that's pretty much biggest problem w/ show
Every character gets a "thing" and it becomes their entire personality. You could assign emoji to every young person and instantly know who's who π

I was laughed triumphantly, and then excitedly sent the clip to my friend, haha... I'd been praying forever that he'd have an accident or something and wouldn't be able to play. This was better! π€£

Kate Hall has written every episode since last Friday
The bigger narratives/breakdowns are still trash but at least the dialogue's gonna be above average when she's writing
If her mom (Courtney Simon) were up to un-retiring, could be a nice HW pairing, like the Labines #GH

My friend grew up playing violin w/ Charles Yang (they're still friends)... for context, he says π» is barely where Charles was at 7yo lol
He has better shot improving as actor, and in my professional opinion, he still needs tons more training... but he's young

We have running chat going bc his playing is so painful lol... Friend taught violin for yrs, lots of actors. At best π» is advanced student level, nowhere near pro
We concur his playing and acting have improved, but bar was VERY low. And 1yr is poor learning curve. He's far from ready or good yet π¬

Violin murder was my favorite part!! ππ€£
I don't mind musical acts on soaps... when they're good. And he ain't no Katherine Delafield! lol
Srly his playing makes me cringe. I send clips to offline friend/former professional violinist. He critiques/explains why π» isn't ready to play on tv lol #GH

How about a doctor AND a spy? I could see Emma excelling at both, simultaneously...
Tho they'd have to de-spy the blonde-mini first lol. That whole premise is just nonsense #GH

I mean, Lois (and Gloria) setup an impossible situation. But it did work. Gio is fairly well-adjusted and a decent, non-criminal human
He's already better off than mobster grandpa's known kids and grandkids... well, until now. I'm sure he'll be corrupted shortly too π #GH

Way I see it, what other choice did Lois have?
She respected teenBLQ's wishes to know nothing about baby, but also wanted to protect grandkid - so she kept him in family. When cousin died, was she supposed to let Gio go into foster care?
But this is why kids should know they're adopted lol #GH

Hated whole Lois telling Sonny on Nina thing - for many reasons... But only villain in current story is Lulu. Won't fall for "blame Lois" distraction
Her motivation for lying was pure and not self-serving, to protect her teen kid and "orphaned" grandkid. I can buy it
Lulu's motive is trash #GH

Also did Cougar Town rewatch, always great - love Shrinking too!
Recent newer shows binged/enjoyed: Γtoile, 4 Seasons, Running Point... The Studio was mixed/meh

Feel like we're missing context clues, having only ever seen that scene, and not everything leading up to it
But based on how Edward (and Lila!) treated Tracy in later 80s, I'm not sure he didn't have it coming lol. He was incredibly abusive and unkind to his kids, but esp Tracy

I'm kinda torn... Bc there's no question they had crazy chem looking for somewhere to go. And that definitely would've been a more interesting iteration to explore
But I also like that we now have this glimpse of both of them playing opposite their respective off-screen partners

I can buy that. They were counselors (or CITs?). Most camps allow staff to leave on days/nights off or go to nearby town
What's not plausible is teen girl knowing her cycle well enough to make correlation THAT quickly lol, and also not be in denial... unless she came to camp already pregnant #GH

I watch almost no network TV, and it's entirely their own fault
Was raised on it, then spent most of my adult working in it, but they gave up and stopped caring if we watched. And we're the last gen who actually wants to watch!
Between Crave and streamer-shifting you should find plenty to watch π€·ββοΈ

I didn't really remember Lois being such a great character, until my 90s rewatch. She was instantly likeable
And she was also quite multifaceted... so of course they feel the need to obliterate her at every turn π
This is one of the few watchable storylines right now, and it's total trash #GH

Don't know why I'm stuck on this but... what kind of clinic schedules an abortion to be performed at EXACTLY 7pm??
1) Seems kinda late for office hrs, and 2) That level of time precision is NOT how any doctors' appts work ππ #GH
comment in response to
post
Thanks for filling in the details! I only remembered the basic beats...
It's very in-character for Edward and Tracy to be pro-Q line expansion lol
But also very Tracy to be pragmatic and sensitive about it. She never gets credit for that but she's always been a "punch up" type character #GH
comment in response to
post
I'm sure someone can confirm this (it's not era I've revisited)... but solely based on fact that the writing was stronger and more consistent then, I'd assume Dillon wanted to keep baby bc it creates more conflict
And I definitely remember Tracy being supportive, and revealing her own abortion #GH
comment in response to
post
Exactly. The writing is awful. They acknowledged she had to make an equally difficult choice as a teen... and I don't think Dillon got a say in that decision π
Actually those scenes between shruLu and BLQ were incredibly thoughtful and sensitively done. So of course they're backtracking now lol #GH
comment in response to
post
There's ZERO consistency, even w/ their own telling of this story
It started w/ calling attention to shruLu's teen abortion and her saying, it's not my place to judge etc... and now she thinks BLQ's choices are entirely her business?!! Oh, hell no!
Time for BLQ to give Uncle Dillon a call π #GH

The contrast in storytelling styles and focus on character dev from #GH 90s rewatch was just so striking... but also LACK of blatant misogyny and racist tropes. Like how did they do better THIRTY years ago??!
I'm so hopeful for #BTG but still seeing too many bad choices that need to be unlearned

OMG amen to that! ...or at least promoting the ones that don't keep failing upwards and ruining show after show after show π
Frank is only the worst right now bc he's been given unfettered power to destroy #GH for over a decade. The other 2 have been equally damaging. They just got fired for it lol

I got on a "simpler ingredients" kick about decade ago, that's how I started making my own dressings. Discovered I preferred them... and only use maple syrup or honey to sweeten so it limits the sugar
But I also measure nothing and improvise recipes. Going to the store requires more effort for me π

TBH been struggling w/ both π¬
I'm weeks behind except for some clips. Neither is focused on what I care about
Only difference is I really want to like BTG. They're just not there yet... Not giving up, tho not sure it's gonna be my style of soap. I'm there for Michele but can't stand Guza or Ron π€·ββοΈ

Oh, I'm not snobbish about iceberg. Esp if it's the best version of it, and esp when it's homegrown
Only dislike it now bc it was all I was given thru my childhood. And it's often in jankiest salads when used in restaurants lol
Renee's is good. It's what I used before switch to homemade dressings
comment in response to

I think I developed an aversion to iceberg lol
But if the salad was good, then it was good. For me Caesar's are mostly about the quality of the dressing anyway. That's the real make or break... do you use store bought or make your own?
comment in response to

The last (only?) time I bought iceberg lettuce was for my dad, to trick him into eating a green vegetable that wasn't pickled π
But I suppose covering it in Caesar dressing would make it palatable... Tho this might just be a me thing - I was only served iceberg as a kid and hate it as a result π€£π€¦ββοΈ

Ya. That's another thing. His behavior w/ celebs is weird. Bc after 20+yrs you become totally desensitized to it. And being symmetrical isn't special lol
On this side of it, your bar for being impressed is based on where someone falls on the "cool, normal human being to insane diva spectrum" ππ

Oh, and his snafu w/ Scorsese was silly and forced
The smart "Hollywood" solution would be to buy the Scorsese script (for much less) and let him make it, but then prohibit him from ever using the word "Kool-Aid" in or around it π
So it's a win-win. He gets BOTH his blockbuster and his art film

Hahn reminds me A LOT of my film marketing prof in grad school, who was a studio head of marketing - w/out her specific style/overt vulgarity lol. But she's a familiar type
General consensus is O'Hara is a version of Amy Pascal, and an amalgam of a few female former studio heads-turned-producers
