Getting off social media is part of the Feb 28th call-to-action.

Yeah, AOC literally told people what the law is. The Border Czar just doesn't want to obey the law.

Likewise, but no luck so far. I keep telling other groups to pay attention to the popularity of these actions, however. People want to participate in them - and our social justice orgs should be organizing a round of these with some oomph and coordination behind them.

It depends on the business, but basics include making a plan with workers, putting out an announcement about why you'll be closing, and making contingency plans for essential services to happen before/after.

I wish the coordinating group behind this had more than just a schedule and social posts. I'd like to see a broad alliance of groups working together on some of this.

100% agree.

This is a good point. We can keep pulling/pushing people and groups away from their Trump-worshipping positions. There will always be the MAGA die-hards, but we can make sure there are far fewer of them.

Sticking the link in the top comment on FB circumvents that. I'm also not sure about BlueSky.

What? Whose foot are we talking about here? Is your foot Jeff Bezos' foot? Or the CEO of Target's foot? My foot isn't.

Thanks, Rebecca. Your care for people is lovely in the ways you alert, educate, and center folks through it all.

Well frankly, it's hard for me to see how its harmful to boycott some of these megacorporations for a day. Many of us have been campaign for this since the demise of brick-n-mortal bookstores, the rise of megacorporations, and the collapse of main street.

There's consumer goods ... and there's consumer goods laced with racism and discrimination. We have a choice. Buying and selling isn't going away, it's going somewhere else. Personally, I want that to be more local, more justice-oriented, more inclusive, and more respectful.

100% Or if its presence will kill you. No profiting from weapons, toxins, or fossil fuels.

Yeah, it could read: Please scale the radio tower and take it back from them, along with the rest of the country.

A good framing to remind right-wing supporters of this idea that it's a terrible idea for every reason, including their own cause. Not to mention sovereignty, issues of imperialism, and the fact that it's an idea unworthy of any of us.
