Also, this is happening in a relatively small area of LA. Folks here did not even know this was going on. Don’t believe that LA is burning. Media and the admin are blowing this up. Don’t get me wrong- this is incredibly serious. We need to pay close attention to what they are distracting us from!

I hope you get lasting relief. Those suckers are no joke. Have you tried electrolytes, calcium and magnesium? Worked for me last week.

I got to spend a day with him as a kid. We were on a 3/4 day fishing boat together. He and my dad really hit it off (dad was a WWII Marine). Later we spent the afternoon in a RV. I was bored silly while they had cocktails and shared war stories. I wish I’d been older to appreciate them.

My father was not one of those. I know a few good men who wear the uniform. I detest the rest o the bastards.

My point is not all are. There are some very good people out there trying their best. They are bashed by peers and the public. Generalizations hurt everyone. We need good people in uniform. We need better screening and psych evaluations. We need to tell the police unions to stop protecting assholes.

Dishonoring behavior in uniform disgusted him. He was forced into retirement when he became an amputee. He continued serving the community even after a heart attack. He lost his larynx to cancer. He became a volunteer with the Lost Chord Club, meeting with cancer patients. He was loved by many.

I’m sorry. Cops today are. I am in my 60s. My father was the most loving and compassionate man I have ever met. He looked after everyone. He served in WWII as a Marine. He saw some real shit .He was also a police sargent. He HATED victimization. He was always fair.He was one of the good guys.

We have many LBGQ cops and firefighters out here in CA. And I understand what horrible things the police uniforms represent. I fully back the decision of San Francisco Pride banning the wearing of uniforms however allowing them to march in street clothes. I think that would be fine.
