Um, I have two aunts on Social Security who need that money to live. They've both voted against Trump three times, so it's not like our present mess was their choice. I'd like people to take this crisis seriously too, but I'm not crazy about the idea of "seeing what happens" to them.

The Rocky Mountains have been renamed the Mountains of America. The nation is now called The American Republic of Trump, Sponsored By Tesla [TM]. And the state of Idaho has been renamed "Shoe," for some reason. So, you know. Same old, same old.

People in the thread have already said this, but: Democrats won in 2018 and 2020 and *over*performed in '22. Until '24, they'd been winning the presidential popular vote. So maybe they don't change their messaging because it works 60 percent of the time, a pretty good average in a 2-party system?

"A central pillar of American democracy is that no man is above the law. But Mr. Trump isn’t an ordinary man." Kind of remarkable to put these two sentences back to back and not acknowledge they're exact opposites. A real-life "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."
