If you wonder how countries slip into dictatorship, it’s like this. Amidst another flurry of news, an official adds at the end that Trump has signed an Executive Order saying that “only the President or Attorney General can speak for the US…as to what the law is.” What?! 👀

I would love for leaders in higher education to show some proactive leadership. Rather than being scared, reactive, and constantly saying “We’ll continue to monitor the situation”, it would be nice to see “We will stand firm in our values and support our faculty, staff, and students.”
