This is absolutely terrible news. With the shifting regulatory climate (i.e., antivax ratfuckery), Moderna has withdrawn their application for their eagerly anticipated COVID-flu combo vaccine. This vaccine offered better protection than getting each shot separately. h/t @merz.bsky.social

At some point, you’ve got to start to wonder who’s actually working for you in Congress. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/inter...

The arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is a warning sign of just how far Trump and his allies are willing to go to silence dissent. This is not normal. It’s authoritarian behavior, plain and simple.

1/ For ProPublica’s “Life of the Mother” series, winner of the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for public service, we reported on five pregnant women who died after not receiving timely medical care in states with strict abortion bans. These are their stories 🧵

“However bad everyone on the outside thinks it is, it is a million times worse. They’re dismantling and destroying everything.” Read, share, respond. Call your representatives. The health and well-being of Americans & America's innovation economy are at stake. www.science.org/content/arti...

"In an earlier post, she wrote: "As for the inevitable death, if I die, I want a loud death, I don't want me in a breaking news story, nor in a number with a group, I want a death that is heard by the world, a trace that lasts forever, and immortal images that neither time nor place can bury."

I love these 10 pieces of GOOD NEWS on climate!

THIS. He is incapable of building anything of use on his own, so he thinks tariffs will coerce business into do it for him. 😂 Coulda just let the Biden economy keep rolling!

Folks, the *goal* is to tank the dollar. That’s a feature not a bug. Once again begging people to read through this very comprehensive guide to what we’re dealing with right now: www.vcinfodocs.com/venture-capi... (more on the dollar stuff in particular: www.vcinfodocs.com/implications...)

An FDA worker confirms what I've seen out there. CDC's entire FOIA office is gone. The FDA's communications and web office were cut. "The FDA as we know it is gone."

Also, a woman was handcuffed at a subway station in NYC (Franklin Ave) when she intervened asking why a delivery man was asked to show work permit by undercover agents. There is a video of that.

Thank you @aoc.bsky.social for coming to Denver yesterday! You are the leadership and voice we all need.

Quick scan of the 30,000+ crowd at Civic Center Park in Denver, waiting for @aoc.bsky.social and @sanders.senate.gov to arrive on March 21.

Did not feel surprised or shocked by this at all. If anything, it confirms the sadness I’ve felt since mid-2024, that our desire and ability to resist is gone.

A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill. Do not let anyone play games with you.

re the previous repost: if they can disappear permanent residents they can disappear citizens

First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year. “'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'" Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/u...

"It is no exaggeration to say this will kill people—mainly people who are elderly, disabled and/or poor. Society’s most vulnerable sit in the crosshairs of our nation’s wealthiest people who have absolutely everything, but somehow always want more."

The FIRST Amendment: Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of the press.

More than 150 Forest Service workers managing public land in Colorado lose jobs as part of Trump cuts

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit
