Our university’s NIH CTSA (Clinical and Translational Science Award) was just cancelled for having some keywords that just mean it will serve ALL people in Utah. This funds research that moves discovery science into clinical therapies. This is literally the mandate of the NIH! 😰 🧪

Call to action for all you PIs (or Postdocs or whoever) from Small Liberal Arts Colleges! I just reached out to my Alma Mater to tell them that threats to biomedical research will shut off the pipeline for their UGs and that if they want to talk to donors or alums about it I am here to help!

Back on my CSR retcon investigation🕵️‍♀️ Today I searched all CSR study sections scheduled for 2/17-3/7. I got just 31 results, 5 of which did meet. Actual number of study sections originally scheduled for that date range: 140!!! CSR has erased the postponement of >100 sections from public record.

My mom just sent me a reminder that 13 years ago today I stood up in front of a room and defended my PhD. Never would have imagined that I would spend my defense-i-versary protesting for the future of science in the US. But I am - because Science is worth the fight!
