Amongst many other things, occasional & v amateur DJ Rob O’Cop on TheSound.FM and RaindropRadio.com. My fortnightly show, Indiescovery, does what it says on the tin! Listen back at Mixcloud.com/thesoundfm [robg147 at the other place]

Are your shows available for catch-up somewhere? (Sorry, too lazy to search around! 😀)

A friend I met on a Usenet News group in ~92/93 introduced me to Stereolab. Enough said!

Ok, found them all and now fully caught up, I think! 😀. Good stuff. In return, my new Indiescovery show is now up, here: www.mixcloud.com/thesoundFM/i... (I nicked a couple of tracks from your shows - hope you don’t mind!)

(Also kind of appropriate that my guess before the right answer was OLDIE! 😀)

Ha! I was thinking the same! 😀

I guess Apple Music will need to revise their blurb! 🤣

I didn’t mean it in a pejorative way - just an observation. BTW, I’ve found your main Friday/ Saturday shows on Global Player app - can I access replays of the midweek shows somewhere?

Mandrake Handshake - yes! - absolutely inspired by Stereolab! My next show will feature that track in a section of other new tracks similarly inspired by them, including Peel Dream Magazine and a couple of French bands, Biche & Sinaive. (Although your show seems more biased to the UK…)

Fantastic - thanks for listening! 👏 I just reset my Global Player password to catch up with your shows, only to discover that we both opened with that same Delivery track! Great minds think alike, etc! Will do my best to keep up in future. Although would be easier if you were on Mixcloud! 😀

I’ll listen to yours if you listen to mine! 😀 www.mixcloud.com/thesoundFM/i...

Thanks again to @johnkennedydj.bsky.social for a top night. The other bands, Winter Gardens and Dutch Mustard, both excellent too.

Thanks, Mikael - some excellent finds here, particularly 9Million, Daydream Twins & sadplanet. Hope you don’t mind me stealing a couple for Indiescovery! 😀

Am I the only one who hadn’t picked up on the ‘Soonish’ reference until I read this (excellent) article/ list? Just listened back to them both and, well, yes!! 👏

Very good. Sold out by the time I got round to shopping!

Ouch! I had Hall (15) and Mbeumo on my bench. And, of course, Ait-Nouri taking their place! 🙄

Nice find. Thanks.

Absolutely. Great band, great album. Also saw them supporting Ringo Deathstarr earlier in the year - both superb - my gig of the year!

1) people from US are more depressed than other nationalities? Unlikely, given relative wealth, freedom, etc; (2) Antidepressants are more readily available/ accessible in the US? More likely - eg. over-the-counter/ cheaper/ prescribed without question if you can pay, etc.

Ooh, that PFFU track is good - thanks. Just catching up on the rest of their new album which is excellent too (albeit a bit crazy!)
