A few of years ago some gen z'ers were trying to "call me out" on having gauged lobes claiming it's racist and apparently no different than being white with dreads. My assumption then was simply gauged lobes are just really, really out of style, but will make a fashion comeback before 2030.

When I was a cook years ago I had a dream about a really bad shift and woke up to the radio alarm blaring a commercial for the restaurant as a grim reminder my shift started in an hour. That made a bad time worse.

Depending on the city, costs soared. 15 dollar cover charge at the door when I *might* stay two hours is steep. Over 10 dollars a pint is very common. It's costly, and I'm not even much of a drinker. Factor the cost of getting to and from a venue, more costly and more complicated.

Covid, I feel is the lightning rod here. Habits changed globally. In 2020 I was in my late twenties and prior every excuse to hang out in a grimy punk venue all hours of the night was a lifestyle. Now 5 years later - I have 0 interest. Maybe a case of once I was out, I never wanted to go back in.

The new tech coming out in terms of guitar/music production is wild, isn't it? I feel no need to own a tube amp anymore in 2025 and it's a weird thought. Like yeah, it sounds great. But it's loud, heavy, doesn't go in direct - more or less its role has been entirely replaced for my use. It's weird.
