Both positions can be true. Carbon capture may be the best choice in some case, but that requires it being built. If carbon capture in the future is allowed to be an excuse to pollute more today and not invest in clean alternatives, it could be a net negative.

You would think a company that can convince people to pay $50 to $100 per pound for coffee, could incorporate the cost of eliminating the waste they produce rather than blame people and municipal recycling programs for not solving the problem they created.

New York may be the “Salt King” but here in Pennsylvania we have legislators that extol the virtues of spreading waste brine from gas extraction on our roads for dust suppression. Sure is is useless, and sometimes radioactive, but it’s much cheaper than using stuff that works
