It's Pixelcast time and this ep sees @hewso.bsky.social, @pretendbeard.bsky.social and @shaunhubp2.bsky.social making wild guesses about what's coming in 2025. Honestly, it is probably a load of garbage, but it is a fun load of garbage. www.player2.net.au/podcast/the-...

So after having a few job apps go south, I'm putting feelers out there for work. #AusGameDev In short, I am: - Mid-(ish) Unity Programmer (Gameplay/UI/General, mostly on desktop, with some mobile) - Melb-based (happy for Hybrid in Melb, or Remote in AEST) - Looking at med/long-term prjs

I am so excited to be able to both announce this and in be in the position to be able to support it. ... and yes folks that does mean I will be back on my charity nagging ways sooner or later. Anyways, I am pretty sure this is a world first for a videogame publication. So that is cool.

Right under our noses all along! The long "lost" #Commodore64 Codemasters game Magnum Force has finally been fully preserved today thanks to Nostalgia, after being hidden on the Codemasters CD compilation and undetected for over 30 years. Check it out at: www.gamesthatwerent.com/gtw64/magnum...

And so the cancer that’s capitalism strikes again. Such joyous news to wake to. Also: Fuck everyone who believes the Line Must Go Up.

Just a little late night existential posting, but been thinking about lot about career things, and what it feels like when the current "circumstances" make you feel like you're at a dead end, and need to go elsewhere.

Time to show off an old video you might find worth a watch (or rewatch). Many vids look at the distant past or the present. But few choose to celebrate the time in between. Which is why I wanted to show a bunch of cool Commodore 64 releases from the late 90s! www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVhN...

The latest Atari Archive video delves into Berzerk, Atari’s final VCS arcade conversion of 1982 - but what a high note to wrap up on. youtu.be/E5cXL5fCdK8

It's Saturday! And I'm too phreaking hot for a fancy intro. So today's random pick is "The Great American Cross-Country Road Race" for Commodore 64, in one of those gatefold folio covers. There's a load of things I can say - but it's the closest experience to a Cannonball Run game I can think of!

New Ancient DOS Games episode uploaded and ready to watch! youtu.be/H4s-PoMhE9w

Movies you've watched more than six times, gifs only

My mood today isn't at its best. Yet somehow, going through the live-you died-repeat motions of the Dark Souls endgame seems right to salve the hurt.

JFC. This is beyond an insult to the creative process. I hope this dies on the vine and is never used in a production project.

New No-Nostalgia Retro Gaming video uploaded and ready to watch! youtu.be/GWfRYPsC0Cs

Whelp. So much for the extended crossing of the fingers. Time to find me a sad playlist and regroup for the next attempt.

So much to say about Avowed. Mostly you can just listen to me rant about the spiders again (and ignore Matt when he explains why the spiders make sense, actually)

oh no, my wallet!

One more from the video archives - and it's the first in a small series I did looking at Commodore 64 driving games. The first part was showcasing a bunch of 3D/pseudo-3D ones which I felt showed the old breadbin *could* do them. Despite what others may say. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Z1...

Trying to prove a point: Repost this if you’ve never, ever, not even in jest, used a generative AI tool.

One more push on last week's vid, not an episode which is a biggie, but it's a game I enjoyed a lot, and in times like this, I can't help but feel it's so important to share the things which bring joy. 🖤

At least ONE victory for today. Some time ago, my Atari’s Fujinet started playing up - as in it wouldn’t boot, and so attempted a firmware reload which didn’t tick over. Came back to it today (because I’m looking at an Atari game next), and managed to flash it. What a relief!

It's funny how using hyperbole in video titles and thumbnails turns me off watching the videos in question. Unsurprising, it's also what makes me a shit video producer, because I like my titles and thumbnails to be straight-fucking-forward. Makes me feel like an even bigger weirdo than I am!
