I see the problem but I wish we had some sort of rational (nonplussed) way of getting them to admit that they bought a lot of other things, too. Of course, they may not give a damn about the things that comm to mind. But we could start looking for rejoinders...

Aside from the unpalatable propaganda, I honestly doubt that the word celebration is in order. Is this what Christians do: celebrate a crucifixion? Or do they remember and mourn? Oh, just think about it. And if you think it makes no difference, imagine the latter words in the mouths of tyrants.
