Looks amazing, and it’s great to see panels including Latin America and Spain.

Point of clarification: it was a fire truck I wanted. We had no money because people leaving Cuba weren’t allowed to take any money with them. She tried to console me but to no avail: she and my crying self.

Non-fiction — except some parts are as thrilling as the best fiction.

Qué impresionante: “maravilloso y terrible”, sí. Y qué actriz tan calmada; suena perfecta para decir lo que dice.

I live nearby and did part of my daily walk on the Oxy campus today. It is very lovely.

Very interesting essay, thank you. In his lecture, Kientz discussed the Juan de Pareja portrait in tandem with that of Innocent X; it supposedly *served* as a warm-up exercise for the latter. I didn’t see the Met show but I’m surprised creators placed the Velázquez as its centerpiece.

Such an interesting article — thank you. Would be great if you could come to Nuuk — where I am now for a conference — and interview Greenlandic politicians about their point of view. (There’s also this fascinating show at the art museum: www.nuukkunstmuseum.com/en/exhibitio...)
