i swiftly press alt tab to switch away from my social media screen as my boss approaches, and instead bring up my recent google results for "best dishwasher configuration for three dozen ball gags"

i was under the impression from bluesky posts that there was an entire fetish about this

Bluesky is dying... or Bluesky helped create one of the most effective spontaneous protest movements of the year?

This is unfathomably shameful. How do we even have to debate this? Why would anyone ever again be so foolish as to trust or help the United States if this is how we treat people who risk their lives on our behalf?

i specifically requested for only les BON temps to be Laissezed to rouler

ME: That’s about it. It’s my first job and I’m really nervous so if you could let me know what you think that would be so helpful CHATGPT: CIA analyst, congratulations! I’ll keep it simple: no, buying large quantities of ammonium nitrate is not suspicious — it’s a common fertilizer for agriculture

Don’t send me an unsolicited picture of your peewee cocktapus unless you want me to… A: find your mom’s Facebook B: find a picture she uploaded of you reminiscing about what a nice young man you were C: badly photoshop that into a locket D: convince you I’m your daughter. Happy Father’s Day Daddy.

www.popsci.com/environment/... Aircela's $15-20k machine makes 1 gallon of gas per day out of air and 75kWh of electricity. Or you could put that energy in an EV and get 255 miles instead of 38, without the machine in between, and no combustion products on our streets.

I wrote about how the 2020 protests hurt Trump politically. I also wrote about how counternarratives about left-wing violence are just spin — and wildly at odds with the reality of extremist violence. Gift link: wapo.st/3SOEv6e

America is one of those countries where if you host a global sporting event, inclusive messages have to be censored to so as not to anger the central government. In this case the message is “racism is bad” www.nytimes.com/athletic/643...

am now at the age when I am beginning to resemble many adults I remember, most of whom are dead

a sign from god that trade is Good

You ever notice you never see a Tyler Austin Harper tweet where he said something smart?

Photo from The Hill's Al Weaver (from Xitter) catches Tina Smith confronting Mike Lee.

Don't look now, but Andor recently became the most-watched show on streaming, passing Bluey!

You know I kind of figured that the personal essay industrial complex would die off, but it’s still finding interesting new ways to make me say “you probably shouldn’t have written that down”

the load-bearing institution we broke first was school. this is very weird and we won't know how much it matters for years

liz bruenig would definitely have started some kind of womb cult in any era preceding the 1970s

Whoa. So this guy had a shootout with cops BEFORE he went into the second residence and he still managed to kill them AND escape. Even though they talked about cops "intuition" being the reason they went to the second victims home. Hm.

correct, we are trapped in here with them, they are not trapped in here with us

the senate is full of degenerates because their job now is mostly to be posters and podcasters, the lowest form of humanity

it's funny to look at this stuff in light of all the posting about how Based and Revolutionary Andor was and how squish libs IRL could never be Mon Mothma. because Andor is very explicit that the only thing that should be required to fight fascism is opposition to fascism.

again: abundance is actually not populist, because frequently populism is very stupid

i also worry that the longer this decadence goes unchecked, the more likely we are to experience an overcorrection reaction that none of us will enjoy

no consequences! none.

no consequences here! none. remember when jon stewart roasted this guy in the free market of ideas? didn't work. didn't do anything. it's jail or nothing.

this is correct. we're currently living in an age of no consequences. seems like the only way back to a stable society is either a serious crackdown on all kinds of corrupt activity - including potential 1st amendment curtailments for liars - or, nutjob militias start blowing up influencers

something to remember is that on the whole political reporters worship power. it makes them feel important. it temporarily addresses their many psychological shortcomings and weaknesses. this will never change but you don’t have to accept it either.

Looking back at tweets from 10 years ago, when Trump announced he was running for president🧵

yeah i dont think posts are gonna do it. how are you going to deal with these soulless vipers? the answer will not make you happy

Newsom trolling so hard even the trolls love it.

*flips chair around* You know who else was 33 and got excoriated by the papers of record in his day for trying to provide people with their basic human needs?

I assume Pam Bondi and the U.S. Attorney’s office are just charging him so Trump can pardon him.

I love the defiance by the younger gen!!!

would you like to see the New York publishing scene explained and demolished in a single paragraph?

One chart that shows the huge gap between people with a ZIRP-era mortgage vs. those who don't. From today's newsletter. www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

not exactly new but superchargers really are awesome, to go from 30% to 77% in a couple minutes is freaking amazing

I wrote about why I'm grateful for Melissa Hortman's work, and for her persistent refusal to give into the destructive right-wing games Democrats fall for time and again. badfaithtimes.com/melissa-hort...

“Fervo’s at it again — pushing the limits of enhanced geothermal and what’s possible in clean, firm power.” Great write up from Sightline on our latest technical advancements. www.ctvc.co/fervo-goes-h...
