As an American and as a young woman voting in first presidential election for Carter, IDO WANT THE FLAG hast mast to honor Jimmy Carter and could not give a big FU for this traitorous POS

I’m a Trump biographer and a Musk biographer. And I’m telling you...the latter is harder. Elon does more abominable things daily than Trump. By a lot. He’s a firehose of horror, and I’m finding it extremely hard to keep up with his malevolence. He’s truly the worst person I’ve ever written about.

Hmmm… Barbra Streisand Effect? I probably wouldn’t have seen this cartoon had it just been allowed to be published in the WP as l don’t subscribe. Today it’s popped up in my feed about ten times from different sources.

Bluesky’s algorithm shows me posts by smaller accounts — many of whom I might never see but want to follow — instead of the same five people over and over and I love that very much.

Not too worried about being allowed to post this here. Elonia doesn't control Blue Sky. www.cbc.ca/news/world/e...

So why is the Uk imprisoning climate change protesters often on trumped up charges?

I don’t know why that’s worrying. That’s well over half.

This remains, and I say this advisedly, one of the best exchanges I have ever seen on social media

Happy Christmas to the 600 or so of you who've found your way to this more pleasant place. Hopefully, next year that number - and more importantly, the number of people on this platform - will have grown a LOT. I very much doubt Muskland is going to become any more agreeable any time soon

As usual, thought-provoking and insightful from @robertjoseph.bsky.social in Meiningers: www.meiningers-international.com/wine/opinion...

Finland gave every homeless person a house and within 6 months 85% had a job and were financially independent. Less crime, less hospital visits, less suffering and even including the cost of the house, LESS COST than the UK/USA method of abandoning them on the streets.

What the Muscovite thinks of Britain: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

At some point, stuff will begin happening in the UK that people realise they have no mechanism to object to, and by that stage it’ll be too late.

Taking Britain out of the Erasmus+ programme was a huge mistake. Labour must rejoin and accept the EU’s offer of a youth mobility scheme

Watch this. It will make you smile. Guaranteed! www.instagram.com/reel/DCsj720...

The news cycle has a limited attention span and other things have been going on... but let's not forget that Georgians have been protesting for nearly 2 weeks now www.aljazeera.com/gallery/2024...

Here's a treat: 20 year-old Bob Dylan's first ever recording - playing harmonica for all he's worth on a Harry Belafonte track. Thanks to BBC R4 Add to Playlist for introducing me to it bbc.co.uk/programmes/m... open.spotify.com/track/5ZOcgv...

Whatever was in these bottles, others with the same labels were produced from different grapes elsewhere in Soviet Union, including a 'wine factory' near Moscow. Much used the now obsolete 'Russian Continuous' system www.leclubdesvins.com/topic/other-...

Why don't you have #Bluesky as an option on your web page for this petition?

XXL transport containers: Two huge #Roman wooden barrels in an outstanding state of preservation, found in Xanten. Both had a capacity of approx. 1250 l and were used to transport #wine from the Mediterranean region to the Lower Rhine. They were recycled for lining wells.1/2 📷me 🏺 #archaeology

UNESCO calls a special session due to the situation in Lebanon.

Tragic!

I am in Tbilisi, though not on the streets. But I have friends who are bravely protesting Very scary times

Things must be getting bad for the Russians in Syria: they are accusing the Ukrainians of supporting the rebels.

More bad news for the Muskrat. This is going to be a huge hit to his already ruined social media site. I love this for him.

Adored doing this podcast with historian Jerry Brotton, final episode of his brilliant series What’s Your Map podcasts.apple.com/fr/podcast/w...

So do I answer you: The pound of flesh which I demand of him Is dearly bought; ’tis mine and I will have it. If you deny me, fie upon your law: There is no force in the decrees of Venice. I stand for judgment. Answer: shall I have it?

A long morning blending a gastronomic K'AVSHIRI Georgian rosé with Vladimer Kublashvili, using co-fermented Saperavi-Mtsvane, direct-pressed, barrel-fermented Ojaleshi, some Aleksandrouli, and air-dried Aladasturi bled from a qvevri after 24 hours.

Watching TV in Georgia. The coverage is pretty much the same every night. The mood of the protests is youthful and generally non-violent. But the military police with the face coverings that only reveal their eyes never become less forbidding

As spotted in a shop window in Kutaisi, Georgia: a patriotic, pro-EU Santa, silently offering his support to the thousands of anti-government protesters a few streets away.

Rather grand to be sandwiched in between quotes from the owners of Château Lafite and Le Pin in the FT.

For a Briton used to seeing his countrymen using the cross of St George as a nationalist-anti-European symbol, it is surreal to be here in Kutaisi, Georgia's 3rd city, where protesters firmly associate *their* flag with being fervently pro-EU.

Religion does NOT belong in our schools! Agreed? ✋

Sounds like a couple who’ve written a letter to the Telegraph about how they can only go skiing once a year because school fees have gone up

Just a reminder that December 1st is the 100th anniversary of the failed Bolshevik putsch in Estonia. Well worth watching this terrific film to mark the occasion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0bY...

Wine and renewable energy? Sounds pretty good to me!

I hope more people, especially politicians wake up to the fact that Liberal democracy is under serious threat all over the world. The forces that drive the fascist right are inequality and a loss of agency and security. If we don't address this in the UK they could take power.
