You're onto something there.
The prosecutor is a mandatory participant and the rest of the firing squad is randomly chosen from the jury. The judge should have to confirm the person is dead after being shot.

This would also be my choice. If I m going to be executed by the state, I want people who support this behavior to pull the trigger. I want them to live with that decision when they close their eyes, not some scene of someone lying on a gurney with an iv.

There are no illegal protest. People are capable of committing crimes, while protesting, but that doesn't make the protest illegal.
