Damian Williams, the former top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, is leaving the law firm Paul Weiss to join the Jenner & Block firm.   He's defecting from a firm that struck a deal with the Trump admin and joining one that fought Trump's retribution efforts in court.

www.nytimes.com/athletic/640... Chisholm is correct about his own position. He doesn’t have the leverage that Devers has to be selfish. But Devers is not a guy you want as a teammate. A guy who will do whatever it takes to win. Trade him to a team that wants a poor-fielding third baseman.

Harvey Milk served his country honorably — first in uniform, then in public office. Taking his name off this Navy ship sends a clear message, and it’s one of disrespect and cruelty.

It’s on record.

www.military.com/daily-news/2... Just as disgusting as we have come to expect from this administration. 🏳️‍🌈 #harveymilk

protectmypublicmedia.org/protect-publ... Protect local media. Sign the petition to Congress.

The dumbest.

Read? The Gazpacho Police and Peachtree Dish lady?

www.nytimes.com/athletic/639... Why? Because FIA is in the pocket of its sponsors. What many people don't understand about professional sport is that it is the entertainment business. The show must go on. Organizers and administrators don't care about anything else. Keep the money train moving.

www.nytimes.com/athletic/639... As I wrote the other day, the guy is a dangerous asshole, but to the New York Times, he’s just got a “champion’s mindset”. FIA won’t sanction him meaningfully, because … sponsors … and they have already stolen one championship from Lewis Hamilton to give to him. 😡

No, it's not The Onion ...

Here's a New Yorker writer on Curtis Yarvin, influential "thinker" for the Trump administration. Yarvin suggests "buying" North Korea, but almost certainly this deal was offered by President Obama when Kim Jong-un acceded to power: "Take the money and run, allow a democratic vote." And Kim said no.

www.nytimes.com/athletic/639... Unquestionably a great driver, but at the same time, without doubt a colossal asshole and a dreadfully poor sportsman … this has been true since he made his debut.

Trump bragged about spending $1B bombing Houthis while getting Reaper drones shot down and losing two fighter jets to the bottom of the Red Sea while accomplishing nothing and leaking it in Signal, while “you don’t have the cards” Zelensky wipes out 40 bombers deep inside Russia.

For Handmaid’s Tale fans.

Jubilant Soccer Fans Cause Chaos in France www.nytimes.com/2025/06/01/w... Atrocious writing. The first three incidents may be unlinked to PSG’s win. The real story starts in paragraph 4.

www.theguardian.com/wellness/ng-... As could have been expected, absolutely no suggestion in this article of any role that has been/is being played by the media in “hypernormalizing” our current situation …

You know it's not your day when the Dodgers pinch hit for Shohei Ohtani but you give up a home run to the pinch hitter. #yankees

A clown and a pig.

They are zip-tying children. They are zip-tying children. They are zip-tying children. Keep saying it. Make them defend it.

Grim one today, but as always worth reading.

I am sorry that my country has descended into fascism but I feel some satisfaction in knowing that my belief that we are a nation of stupid assholes has been vindicated.

“… the potential length of the match is what matters.” Yes. If your TV contract limits you to one match in the nighttime session, and it might be 39 minutes long, that’s not good entertainment. And guess what? You’re in the entertainment business. #FrenchOpen

"Seventy-five cents of every dollar of capital spending for defence goes to the United States. That's not smart," Carney said. So much winning, thanks to the very stable genius.

The updated total is that TACO Trump has now pardoned NINE former Republican members of Congress convicted of crimes.

www.npr.org/2025/05/30/n... He will not be misssed.

open.substack.com/pub/thejaded... I've written some (very short) political fiction. In these times the line between fact and fiction is blurred. This features a character whose resemblance to the chairman of the law firm Paul, Weiss is purely coincidental. #paulweiss #biglaw
