Let this be a lesson: always save the things you like as and when you see them otherwise you'll spend an hour scrolling searching for "That great poem about a library I'm sure I read somewhere"

World Book Day displays done...

A podcast I did! #comedy #satire #podcasts podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/v...

Would any writer pals be kind enough to take a look at the first ten pages of a radio script and provide some light feedback? Happy to return the favour if it helps...

"Bake a Great Big Batch of British Bloody Baps, Buns, Bread Rolls, Balm Cakes, Tea Cakes and Great Aunty Betty's Doughy Boulders for Brexit (sponsored by Brian Turner's Gluten Free, Vegan Friendly Frozen Burgers and Frankfurters)"

Ooh, listened to the first episode of this on my morning walk. Gave me the willies but, by gum, it's good!

rugged individualism is by far the most bizarre belief because unlike every other position good or bad which can be traced back to some part of human development over the evolutionary process, this one is truly alien, it's a rejection of the primary advantage our species had that helped us take over

There is also a handy email reply template here, if you would rather respond that way, which I did: docs.google.com/document/d/1... Send email responses to <[email protected]>

The deadline to submit your views to the UK government’s consultation on AI and Copyright is *midnight tonight*

I just filled out the UK gov's Consultation on Copyright and AI. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO FILL IT OUT. It is a lot. It is dense. It is confusing. BUT! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT. You don't need to answer every question, just do what you can! Also, I found the following guides super helpful:

I have a cold and I deeply resent having to spend hours of my life filling out long and complex forms to explain to the government why I think that no, actually, people should NOT be allowed to freely steal and profit from my work, destroying my ability to make a living. However:

Someone described using the uk arts for generative ai as fracking the creative industries. And yes. It is.

Finally completed the government's AI consultation. My god. What a hideously written thing that goes out of its way to complicate an already information-dense subject. My heart goes out to any creatives that are struggling to complete it and feel weighed down by the futility of it all.

this was the ubiquitous tool for finding out information online to the extent that it's name became the verb for doing that, and then they invested all their money into a technology that replaces that usefulness with sentences like "whether tripe is kosher depends on the religion of the cow"

Just watched Mirror Mirror with the kids. Not great, and didn't realise Armie Hammer was in it. Includes a running joke about him licking people and commenting on 'the nectar of their skin' which hits a little different...

Donald Trump spent years vilifying news media but it wasn't until his re-election where they all completely capitulated to and reshaped all of their coverage to adhere to the reality he wanted to project that they finally became what he said they were all along -- fake news.

'Beeban Kidron said the government was undermining its own growth agenda with proposals to let AI companies train their algorithms on creative works under a new copyright exemption.'

The incomparable Kate Lister (@k8lister.bsky.social): "I am old enough to remember when it was important for a university to just have a history department and somewhere to study literature, and I’m not that old."

Inspired by this brilliant advice, I managed to crack through 20 pages of script last night and finish the thing. It's all poor jokes and blunt dialogue and the shape is there. The feeling of accomplishment and the excitement to start editing is something else...

Please sign this open letter on behalf of all creatives and anyone that uses anything from these industries (thats right, that means everyone needs to read up and speak up!) #kidlituk #HandsOffOurCopyright docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Green Goblin: I am going to drop this bus full of innocent people off a bridge Keir Starmer in a Spider-Man mask: as a counter move, I am going to commit £400,000,000 to build my own bus to drop them from

So this is what Labour are making pensioners freeze over winter for? It's obscene that they've dug up close to £400 million to spaff on this performative cruelty circus. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

If you're a CREATIVE, this should go to the top of your TO DO LIST. Act now. Don't hesitate.

This excellent thread backs up something I've been saying for a while: the BBC needs a drama strand to replace Inside No. 9. - 13 episodes a year, half an hour per episode - Writers new or at least new-ish to television - Economical staging. iPlayer, and BBC Two at 10pm before Newsnight.

An absolute masterpiece. I adore this show!

Let’s boost this! I am a creator with disabilities, and I want to support others as well!

Motherfucker.

Well done, Bradford! ❤️

If we're going with first names, then it's gotta be Mugabe. If the focus is on maximum percentage share of your name, then Kilroy-Silk.
