What happened to freedom of speech, right to protest, where are the patriots?

American Republican politicians are the most reprehensible humans on the face of the Earth. The lies. The absolute lies.

Ethers Mixed media The dream ethers are neither air or water. They are fear, fascination, full immersion, and flight.

I guess we're inured to this stuff now, but can we just pause to recognize what sort of Orwellian Upside-Down we're living in when the guy *whose country got invaded* can be accused with a straight face of "risking World War III" for... not wanting to be conquered & subjugated?

Pass it on. #StandWithUkraine

I'm grateful for news that I have been selected as a 2026 artist in residence at Château Saint-Pierre de Mejans in the Luberon region of France. Ken and I will be heading to this restored ancient priory turned wine estate next spring.

Making #collage papers.

New mini #dreamscape. Considering Christina Rossetti’s Goblin Market today and how women of the Victorian era used story to fight their #repression.

Ah, nice little 4.7 earthquake to remind us here in BC that we are just waiting for the Big One.

Issue 4 of feminist literary journal Skirting Around is LIVE and I'm honoured to have two poems included My fun ode to comfortable pants--Soft Pants: page 41. Monsters--a piece on beauty culture's brutal assault on women: Page 54. www.skirtingaround.org/latestissue

Mike Pence just reposted an old article he wrote about the limitations on the powers of a president. For some reason. Here is a part of it.

I found out today: this little beauty that my great-grandmother's brother sent her from the WWI front lines was hand stitched by Belgian and French women and sold to soldiers. So excited to learn about the makers, and proud that my Polish family fought on the front lines against tyranny.

I finished the first draft of my new novel! Took myself out for celebratory made-in-Vancouver art supplies from Kroma Acrylics and a happy dance in the rare YVR sunshine

Made some paper and some window collages to keep from falling into the abyss. #art #mentalhealth

So ... the Canadian tariffs may be delayed, and are probably only idiot bully tactics anyway ... but I don't think you can underestimate how angry it made the entirety of Canada.

Gorgeous snowy YVR.

OpenAI says it has proof that Deepseek used its work without permission to create something meant to undermine and destroy its product. On behalf of all the authors whose novels and stories were taken as training data, oh no that must be so hard for you.

Deep into a process with this new novel that I’ve found loosens my grip on the control and structure I thought I needed in order to write a book. Never thought I’d pants my way through a first draft.

A rare night off, so making handmade papers from scraps and packing paper.

On this Hollocaust Remembrance Day, this pairing of mixed-media collage and words, including papers and images from my great-grandmother's life, imagines what might become of her now. thesibyllinechronicles.substack.com/p/occupied-b...

3 of 3 In the total #mixedmedia plus category, I taught myself how to make packing tape image transfers. 🤓 #collage

2 of 3 I ended up taking apart experiments with tissue paper and acrylic and ended up with smaller pieces.

1 of 3 Learning #collage has been a mixed bag this week. Playing a lot. This trio got experimented with all over the place.

Here’s a sweet boy we named Monsieur Mutton while in the French countryside in December. Xo

I understand that ChatGPT is down and fortunately this is not a problem for me as I have spent considerable time developing a local language model that I am able to run autonomously, fueled by Coke Zero and snacks

2 of 2 Keep thinking about the The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society when Eben Ramsey notes that the key to a healthy Democracy is a functioning post. Mark my words, letter writing is about to make a comeback.

1 of 2 Past month: Deleted Facebook, TikTok, already off Twitter for ages, in the midst of reconciling loss of friends & connections when I finally delete Instagram. Realizing the sense of false connection and voyeurism that I hypernormalized. People who had no place in my life had access to it.

Wow

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research. I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

If there was ever a cry for artists to rise up and create new ways of building an informed and free global community, this is it. A somber, long read worth every minute: lindseyadler.substack.com/p/ten-years-...
