I say this as a leftist who ALSO wanted more and so I made more of the events.
I handed out n95 masks, talked about disability justice and clean air, and made new friends who want to enact change with me.
Y’all “can’t find people” to organize with because you AREN’T people to organize with.

Hell yes they can ... Is it also called "work to rule"?

Sure, I'll sign, because -- again -- it's easy for me, because I'm not worried about making it to my next paycheck.
It's not nearly as easy for many, many others who aren't as privileged as you and I are, and THOSE are the people I'm interested in working to 🐝 there for.

...which in ITSELF is privilege. If I had a full-time job that I couldn't leave lest I get fired, a mortgage or rent to pay, a family that needs feeding, and all the ancillary costs involved with all that, I wouldn't be able to participate in a general strike OR join an org to help lift others up.

Exactly. There are many organizations dedicated to supporting those who need help from us who are privileged. It's our mission to get active within those organizations.

Exactly.
And make them be VERY specific in their answer, and IF THEY DODGE THE QUESTION, KEEP ASKING.

And you're free to feel that way.
Personally, I'm instead double-checking to ensure that my actions are aligned toward doing what I can to make it so that those less privileged than me can become less financially insecure, so that they ARE able to engage in large-scale protests like a general strike

"It seems as though he was not taken into custody."
As he said himself in his press conference, he was not detained or arrested.
Not that it in any way justifies what that Noem and her people did, but, for the record, Padilla did confirm.

If you LOVE talking to voicemail instead of an actual person EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU CALL, then indeed, call away. Schiff will disappoint you every time.

I'm not sure of that at all, no.
Hell, even just having the time, freedom and bandwidth to have this discussion on Bluesky is privilege that many people (who also don't have the time, freedom, bandwidth or cash for a general strike) don't have.
comment in response to

Unfortunately, many people simply can't afford to go on any kind of general strike.
I'm privileged enough to strike, but I also understand that even being able to say that I'm privileged enough is, in itself, privilege.

Gas station tried to pull that shit on me once.
I was so pissed, I bought a gallon of water instead.
Dumped the contents on my way back to the pump, paid with a card, and filled that gallon bottle full as I glared right at the employee who cried the whole time about how I "can't do that!"
