Very proud of the high and consistent mosquito infections the LSHTM MTF is getting! So vital for many of our research projects!

Ahead of #WorldMalariaDay2025, @lshtm.bsky.social ’s Human Malaria Transmission Facility reports its most successful P. falciparum / A. coluzzii infections to date—advancing lab-based research in the global fight against malaria. Read more 👉 bit.ly/4lL8YiA

This won't just affect the US. This is terrible news for biomedical research as a whole, the staff and students and all the people who would benefit from their work. It's insane

Exciting 2 year postdoc position with Ed Parker at LSHTM working on vaccines in EHR: jobs.lshtm.ac.uk/vacancy.aspx... Closes April 7. Visa eligible.

I can't stand bullies. President Zelensky is now trying to stand up against two of them. We should have his back. #SlavaUkraïni

I can't even. Never in my life did I imagine we would witness such utter contemptuous behavior from the leaders of the most powerful country in the world. Absolutely disgraceful. And exceptionally emblematic of how utterly misguided we are as a country. www.nytimes.com/video/us/pol...

Congratulations to Dr Fitsum Tadesse on winning the prestigious @lshtm.bsky.social Greenwood Africa Award for his outstanding contributions to the control of infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa His work is making a significant impact in the fight against malaria in Africa. 👇 bit.ly/3XoZC1t

In this perspective piece, @robmoon.bsky.social and Ellen Bushell discuss two landmark papers published in @science.org that conducted a genome-wide screen of the zoonotic malaria parasite P. knowlesi, identifying which of its 5,000 genes are essential for blood-stage growth. 👉 bit.ly/3Xuv7Yj

To all our many, many friends in US academia - how can we help as you fight new fires on a daily basis? Experiments, analyses, collaborative visits, hosting you for sabbaticals…? Just say the word. We are behind you 100% ❤️ 🧪🧬🔬🌎🌏🌍

Absolute pleasure to have been asked to write this perspective in @science.org along with Ellen Bushell covering two groundbreaking functional genomics papers in the monkey malaria parasite P. knowlesi 🧪 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Are you a researcher in #STEMM & currently caring for a child, another adult or your parent/partner/spouse? If so please take a few mins to share your experience w/ the 3Lauras @ Carers in STEMM Anonymous survey: qualtrics.manchester.ac.uk/jfe/form/SV_6s… Only 6d left to respond, please repost 🙏

I guess it’s about time I introduced myself here! I am Rob Moon, a molecular parasitologist working at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK. I work on lots of aspects of malaria parasite biology but particularly how the parasites get inside red blood cells (invasion).

Very excited to say that I have today joined @lshtm.bsky.social, to start a research group supported by a Wellcome Career Development Award!
