The goal is to keep Tidewater facility from closing, says Dix. Tidewater's CFO says situation still very challenging. Dix says impact might be near-term price increase for consumers on biofuel, but can't allow USA to undermine system, and long-term benefit to Cdn industry key.

Now every question or statement a Conservative makes in the house, from @JohnRustad4BC to any other critics, will be met by a retort from an NDP minister that the Conservative side supports Trump. Which is an inexplicable own goal strategic error by the Cons, but... here we are.

The political calculus here is that by making this change just before 4 months of daily question period in which the safe supply diversion problem was going to feature heavily, it gives the NDP a pivot out from underneath the issue it has been negligent overseeing this.

This is a big shift in BC's policy, which has until now allowed for many safe supply drugs to be prescribed and taken out of store (where they can be resold). Now, people will have to consume the prescribed drugs in front of a healthcare professional.

Good Q! I think the "structural deficit" as they call it, the build up of 7rs of major hiring in the public service, plus 2 yrs of rapid Eby growth of more gov programs + services, is dragging budget down. Horgan also increased/created new taxes on biz+wealthy. Eby has not. Plus, stagnant economy

The speech does not name US President Donald Trump, but it does talk about fighting Nazis in WWII and how "we are called on to summon that strength and character one more time." I think gov is playing with fire with this metaphor but okay...

Okay now hearing this from multiple people: -Canada's premiers froze out the country's ambassador from their Washington meetings. But not all premiers. Some thought this was rude and counterproductive -- but a couple drew a hard line: 'We don't want the feds involved' -Oops. The feds got /
