Just fyi, you don’t have to know that whatever activism you’re taking part in (large or small) “works” in order to do it. There’s no resource constraints demanding “evidence-based activism” other than your own capacity. Do what makes *you* feel good.

Btw @nytimes.com Daily episode today was absolutely atrocious. @michaelbarbaro.bsky.social praising Trump’s “dealmaking” on the international stage as if every world leader isn’t treating this man like the child he is. Pure fantasy.

Musk doubled down on DOGE’s move-fast-and-break-things approach, and should he make mistakes – like the “accidental” canceling of Ebola prevention aid – the response is simply, oops!

Whenever I want to feel better, I google "tesla stock."

Self care for me is *not* clicking on the @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social episode with the title “A theory of media that explains the last 15 years of politics.”

On the bright side, my french is getting really good again because the news is now too scary for my kid, so I've taken to listening to Radio-Canada.

This is really smart by @sanders.senate.gov Go to republican districts and push voters to pressure their republican reps. www.commondreams.org/news/bernie-...

Having a kid is like hanging out with your best friend while they slowly sober up for 18 (25?) years.

This time it is @anildash.com who has randomly (as in a tweet from 2021) made the front page of Reddit

I knew tensions were high when I found myself actually caring about the outcome of a hockey game.

The fact that this communication is now necessary ... for conferences happening in the *US* ... shocking.

I appreciate everyone’s messages of support, I’m trying to get through all my mentions but as you can imagine, it’s been a bit of a busy day :) Remember - peaceful civil disobedience, and no kings, no tyrants. Not ever.

As always, @chriswarcraft.bsky.social is a real one.

I know this doesn’t actually mean anything about their politics, but it gives me hope that twice in the last month, I’ve seen the toughest dudes blasting (in one case) Alanis Morissette, and (in the other) Taylor Swift, from their very big southern looking trucks.

Not saying this to be quippy or wry, but as a parent of a 5-year-old boy, it's actually quite striking how similar the Trump administration is to the attitude of this age group.

The New York Times analyzed the electoral impact of annexing Canada instead of asking why the president is talking like a dictator. www.readtpa.com/p/stop-analy...

Pretty interesting that Meidas Touch is outperforming Joe Rogan now. An example of playing on the same terms as the right, which seems to be resonating. Not sure if this is good or bad!

My illegal Pinkerton is driving me to my illegal hotel while the hallucination machine in my phone summarizes the emails my coworkers wrote using their hallucination machines. My burrito travels separately in its own limo. This is innovation and normal.

Wild how effective the right’s “I’m rubber and you’re glue” strategy is

"One FAA employee who was fired over the weekend suggested he was targeted for his views on Tesla and X..'The official DOGE Facebook page started harassing me on my personal Facebook account..Less than a week later I was fired, despite my position allegedly being exempted due to national security.'"

Teaching feminist, indigenous, and inclusive approaches to science communication tomorrow, and wow, I was not expecting my syllabus to feel so 'quaint' one month into the semester. Of course, I'm teaching evidence-based policy approaches and that also feels a quaint idea now too...

The season finale of America has really jumped the shark.

Looks like getting all those 1337 high school Python hackers has unintended consequences. Fucking morons. Musk is not a programmer or an engineer.

Just saw a farmer say, "you don't have to admit you were wrong, you have to admit you were lied to, " and idk that seems like a good framing to call people in

Time and time again, Antonio Delgado is showing himself to be the only major New York politician with an actual spine. I hope he runs for Governor and primaries Hochul

My friend, who works for the VA, is saying that her patients (Republican veterans) are angry about Trump/Musk (and are expressing that in FB groups) I know this constitutes FAFO, and it's hard to not be angry about how their votes may have led to this, but how can we use this moment to reach out?

Contacting my representatives non-stop and now also contacting journalists to figure out how Tillis can have his phone ringing off the hook and vote for RFK Jr by claiming that he hasn’t heard anything and “silence is consent.” I am not afraid to Karen for the good guys.

If the last few years have taught me anything, it's that when they go low, we should go even lower.
