Mikey 17 was great đź‘Ť with an incredibly Trumpian inspired performance by Mark Ruffalo :)

Surely this was intended to be parody..

Currently appearing at UK bus-stops. More of this pointed ridicule, please.

How to make #nuclear look not so expensive: Trick #1: Assume a cost for reactors of around half what they have actually cost to build in the real world

Will Trump be the first US president to start a Middle East war for real-estate opportunities that have water views, rather than oil? #gaza #trump

Interesting that both Thailand and Australia are in Zeekr's sights for a fast charging network.

We are better at renewables than we think we are.

Curbside charging can't come fast enough! #Ora #cat #ev

I wish that Toyota made a #Corolla equivalent #EV. It's such a great car with a long history. Crazy that it has been replaced by the stupidly large Ford Ranger after falling from it's no. 1 spot held back in 2014.

omg they’re paying $380,000 per month to crew the new Spirit of Tasmania even while it’s stuck in Scotland (because they ordered a boat too big for Tas ports) www.abc.net.au/news/2025-01...

I sometimes think that Turnbull should just stay in his box. He missed his chance for greatness. 'Wind and solar power in South Australia grew to 75% in 2023 – a target initially set for 2025 by the former Labor premier Jay Weatherill in 2018.

Very interesting article about the demise of Japanese car manufacturers in favour of Chinese EVs. Thailand is well covered on major routes with fast chargers and is switching over to EVs fast.

As someone who lived in Istanbul for some time, I was surprised that these EV growth projections have high expectations for Turkiye.. but on reflection it makes sense that a country with a history of car manufacturing will transition to EVs fast. Especially with their own popular ev brand Togg.

I've been waiting for this for a while after seeing it in Europe. This will be a game changer for people living in apartments without off-street parking.

My brother is staying at my mum's place in a small coastal Tasmanian town. He was quite pleased that during a power cut, he was able to power the house water pump & kettle from his BYD Atto. He was disappointed that the power came back after only 30mins ;) True vehicle to gridcan't come soon enough!

In my Melbourne bayside suburb, the gas industry is spending what must be millions on upgrading the gas supply to be ready for so-called renewable gas. Feels like they are doubling down on their existing connections in the face of the Victorian ban.

"Within the progressive scenario, nuclear is claimed to reduce costs by a still-substantial 28 per cent. How does the modelling reach such a conclusion? Through sleights of hand, unrealistic assumptions and sheer physical impossibilities."

Great article on how the energy revolution is already well underway.

Excellent piece by @simonahac.bsky.social “Under the Coalition’s scenario, large industrial load collapses in 2030, signalling the closure of smelters and presumably datacentres – goodbye AI! By 2050 industrial demand is down by 62%.” #auspol #nuclear www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Hopefully, they see some sense.

Ironically, if the under 16 social media ban was in place during the pandemic, these guys would never have had a platform to promote their site. #socialmedia #ban #under16

You just know that a few Liberal party heavyweights got drunk some time earlier in the year and wrote their nuclear policy on the back of a beer coaster... they wrote the budget on another coaster and are now trying to find it. #nuclear #liberalparty #renewableenergy #renewables

Buy a battery and get a free car!

Seems like a lot of companies are jumping on the #spotify #unwrapped bandwagon. So far SBS Australia has made the best attempt I've seen, and Virgin Australia Velocity have made the most pitiful (basically a poorly executed email merge) ;) #sbsaustralia #velocityfrequentflyer #virginaustralia

The #Nissan #Leaf 1st Gen & 2nd Gen are great cars - and they are still going strong. 2nd hand models with 200km+ range can be found for less than AU$20k. We drove one all over Tassie and around Vic. Build quality is great and the battery is easily upgraded, so there is a lot of life left in them.

Back in Melbourne & rented a #Hyundai #Ioniq 6 from #Europcar at the airport. It's a good-looking car and drives well too. Love how it has lots of buttons rather than forcing you thru a tablet menu to turn the aircon up. Boot is small but you can fold seats down. Preferred it to the #Polestar. #ev

No wonder people lose faith in both sides of government.

Why are paper towels and toilet paper so sensitive to supply hold-ups? Are Australians hoarding loo paper again? #Woolworths #strike

Very cool, but I bet it never comes to Australia #micolina #ev #isetta

Murdoch and the Australian Gas Industry are in cahoots. It's f...g outrageous. #gad #Murdoch #newscorp

Got the pix on the return trip, which might help make more sense of my post from last week. #China #ev #Thailand #Bangkok
