Recess appointments have been dead law for decades. The Senate's pro-forma sessions made sure of that.

At least Santos got a *little* creative with his "no, I said Jew-*ish* not Jewish" defense. Surely she can at least do better than Santos?

It was probably the constant stanning for Stalin and proud comparisons to Idi Amin that did that.

I think there's a detail from that metaphor that people keep overlooking, but really does help explain quite a lot: the frog in that experiment had been lobotomized first.

I've seen that account pop up before. And oh boy are there some pretty intense hot takes in there. I'll see if I can find the receipts to back it up, but the hostility was definitely noticeable.

I've seen that account pop up several times. I guarantee the content of that one post isn't what keeps getting them labeled.

Once again, the court demonstrates why the best view is optometrist.
So what's the applicability of § 1983?
And now?
How about now?

I am prepared to offer as many "conservatives" to the war machine as needed to make sure that happens.

Whatever happened to the practice of having three judge panels hear cases like this?

Don't worry. They've made it clear that class cases are next on the chopping block.

Didn't this happen with one of the major Internet speech cases last term? I remember everyone being blindsided when it dropped in the middle of the day from Kagan.

I've been trying to convince Leonard French to do a series of YouTube shorts answering typical law questions, and every single one is just a five second clip of him looking into the camera and saying "It depends." I think we've got a new question for the list!

"The Civil Rights Cases, 109 U.S. 3 (1883), were a group of five landmark cases in which the Supreme Court of the United States held that the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments did not empower Congress to outlaw racial discrimination by private individuals."
Oh. Ummm, wow. You're not kidding. :S

This is trickle-down economics, which we know is complete BS. The wealthy will make those cuts regardless of tax rates unless they're forced not to. How about working on that safety net instead of protecting the rich guys?

I know of one case where the plaintiff sued the judges in one district for declaring him a vexatious litigant in that district. Long story short, he became a vexatious litigant in *two* districts.
