Good luck with the move! Hope everything goes as smoothly as possible

Yoooo, congrats!

YES! Back to a time that doesn't conflict with my work schedule! I can't wait!
comment in response to post
Exactly! I usually move around, but even then, I often find myself having to wait once I arrive for my GP to refill, which just kills the rhythm of it all. Making the Cosmoliner speed that up would help quite a bit.

I've had this conversation with my FC friends a lot too since the moon released, and the improved GP regen rate has been my suggestion from the start. I love your Cosmoliner twist on it too, as it further incentivizes using it to get around.

That's awesome, congrats!

That sounds like a wonderful day!

I can say from experience, it does feel weird at first, but it is a title most definitely well-earned, and you'll do a fantastic job!

I mean, you're absolutely right, it is a vibe. Reminds me of the time I had an MRI and the doctor yelled at me to stop moving to the beat of the magnets.
comment in response to post
Absolutely, I hope it all works out well for you!
comment in response to post
That's awesome, good luck!
comment in response to post
That's great, I'm happy for you! Here's to much better things to come!
comment in response to post
I can think of a few friends who would have that exact same reaction! Maybe that will convince them to play the remasters...
comment in response to post
Ooh that's a good question. I'll see if I can dig up that information.
comment in response to post
I really hope so, it's been so long! On the other hand, though, the extended silence has gotten to the point where I almost expect no news, so I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't.
comment in response to post
I could definitely see that, especially if they met early on in their character developments. Actually, later on in their stories, they'd still probably dislike each other, but with the roles reversed. In the middle though? Best friends for sure.

I can understand that feeling, but you're right, the lockdowns were extremely disruptive. I was talking with one former student during the lockdown period and she had her plans change several times in a year as a result of the lockdown. As long as you're doing well, that's most important!
comment in response to post
That's great! I'm glad you were able to reestablish that connection!
comment in response to post
As a professor myself, I will say, it's always SO nice to hear back from former students. Whether in a formal capacity like requesting a rec letter or informal like getting career advice or even just chatting about life, there's nothing that makes my day more.
comment in response to post
Yeah, for sure. We hang out in voice calls all the time which is great, but it would be nice to be physically in person to cause chaos together
comment in response to post
Ooh, still a timeline though, that’s exciting!

I feel this, my friends and I have been trying to meet up for years, but we’re on opposite sides of the country so we haven’t all been able to get together yet
comment in response to post
It's a shame too, because I know several people who could do great work within their local governments and are interested in doing so, but they can't because of the way the system is built. It's such a waste.
comment in response to post
This has bothered me for a while too. They'll say they want more people to be involved in government, then put up all these artificial barriers to getting involved. Like, which one is it?
comment in response to post
Everyone should have their own wiggler head, tbh
comment in response to post
Agreed! And with the weather finally starting to warm up too, it's wonderful.
comment in response to post
That’s awesome! Being able to adapt on the fly is a super useful yet underrated skill when teaching, both in the classroom and (arguably even more so) in one-on-one tutoring.
comment in response to post
Happy birthday!
comment in response to post
Goes well, even! It's official, you'll definitely do a better job teaching English than I just did writing it.
comment in response to post
Ooh nice, good luck! Hope it goes for you!
comment in response to post
That's pretty much the path I settled on too. That way, if we are all excited about the same things, we can all share in that excitement even if we're not all as vocal about it. Even if our interests differ, we often get excited for each other's enjoyment of the things they're doing.
comment in response to post
1000x YES for this entire thread! No one is worth giving up the things that make you happy as your own person, and if they ask you to, they're not the right person.
comment in response to post
I'm in the same boat! I never really outwardly expressed passion for fandoms, but rather expressed my enjoyment by simply enjoying them often, whether that be playing games, reading books, etc. It often did (and still does) feel strange among others who do show their passion, but it's still fun.

Exactly, and this is the part that I think the 40-day period helps with. It doesn’t sound as daunting as an indefinite boycott so it’s an easier entry point, but it’s enough time to develop new habits to where it would be relatively easy to just continue after the 40 days have passed.
comment in response to post
Oof yeah I feel that. It’s so hard to muster up the energy to do even the things you enjoy when works wears you down so badly. Either way, I’ll be looking forward to it, no matter how long it takes! I love your analysis videos
comment in response to post
Same! To this day, the dressphere system is one of my favorite growth systems in a FF game, and the musical numbers are just a sort of fun you wouldn't otherwise expect. Couple that with a story that's much richer than you would expect given the silly bits, and I love it.

I really need to finish my replay of the XIII trilogy so I can replay X-2. I've seen a bunch of comments about it recently and it's been hard to stay focused and not just jump over.
comment in response to post
Yep, it’s especially tough because that then contributes even more stress and it’s easy to snowball out of control. I hit that point with work a few years back and have been working real hard to purposefully give myself some de-stress time since. It’s not always easy, but small improvements are nice
comment in response to post
It absolutely does! There’s a lot of research out there that shows stress having a negative impact on memory and concentration, thus affecting learning. It’s part of the reason why addressing things like math anxiety (for my classes) is arguably even more important than the content itself.
comment in response to post
That’s awesome! Good luck!
comment in response to post
From what you’ve been describing, that sounds like a good plan. I strongly believe that no job is worth that sort of pain.
comment in response to post
I hope everything works out well for you! All that uncertainty is scary for sure, but I’m glad you’re looking out for yourself and figuring out what will work best for you. I know that’s not always easy for me to do
