We are a small homestead in S Mississippi with free range heritage poultry, Meishan and Kune Kune pigs, a gang of goats, and a ridiculous amount of dogs.

Yes! She is the heart and soul of the farm for sure. Couldn't have our free range poultry without her - we have a hawks, owls, foxes and coyotes all looking for an easy dinner. The hawks in particular were decimating our flock before Susie came to the rescue. 🐾❤️🐾

El Pueblo is the only 501(c)(3) in Mississippi that provides immigration legal services, health education, and victim support services to the Latinx community. We also provide holistic support to immigrant human trafficking victims. (Yes, this is my off farm job but I truly believe in our work.)

That face!!! ❤️🐾❤️
And yes, Susie is a valued and respected member of the family, and we prioritize joy while recognizing the importance and seriousness of work. Especially when the work is as important and challenging as hers.

I'm very lucky to have the space and peace I need to keep my sanity. I live in objectively the poorest, and subjectively the most backward state, but at least I have my little refuge from it all. 🐾

He *is* gorgeous! This is such a lovely breed - calm temperament and hefty size. I keep thinking about getting some - maybe this will be the year!

My hens are apparently all rebels lol. They are totally free range but have very nice nesting boxes and shelves in the barn. But they preferred choosing random spots in the barnyard instead....I have put some golf balls (much cheaper than ceramic eggs) where I want them to lay and it seems to help.
