gravedigger of american democracy. a more malign influence than john c calhoun.

We can see and feel the campaign growing. These are the meet + greets scheduled over the next couple weeks and these are organized by VOLUNTEERS and they all are hitting capacity! Maplewood tonight

The official White House account just referred to Trump as a “king” and posted an image with a crown on his head. They’re not even hiding it.

NJ Sen. @troysingletonnj.bsky.social says the Trump/Musk proposal to cut 50% of jobs at HUD “would rip apart the safety net that prevents families from being forced into the streets and kneecap our ability to build the affordable housing New Jersey desperately needs.”

With congestion pricing paused, NJ can’t take a victory lap. NY is going to fight this in court. It was working too well for Manhattan (less so for other boroughs). We need to push for a revenue share now to invest into fixing NJ Transit. Riding NJT and the PATH shouldn’t feel like a death sentence

Important thread - Monday - we did a zoom with 400 ppl focused on some of the most vulnerable communities in a Trump era. I wanted to make this call about actionable steps we can take + not just complaining. There are actions we can take HERE in NJ to help ppl at risk.

GOP typical playbook. Cut Medicaid to pass a budget making room for tax breaks for the wealthy. DOGE’ll find savings in pennies while Repub Congress slashes programs in the dollars for tax cuts. Trump didn’t run on spending reduction. It’s a parlor trick. www.njspotlightnews.org/2025/02/cong...

NJ Transit will be my first priority too. We can get this done.

Go-time for NJ gubernatorial debate in Princeton!!

With Trump now the chair of the Kennedy Center, I got nostalgic for some of the previous ceremonies for honorees. Here’s to the arts continuing to push boundaries and speaking truth to power. youtu.be/2cZ_EFAmj08?...

Watch this space. Trump can also derail electricity generation by rolling back the IRA, including fed subsidies for NJ nuclear, which accounts for a lot of NJ electricity. We need more alt power projects. And residents should be told when projects will go online and expected reduction in costs.

We’re building a different type of campaign that’s focused on people not party bosses and a campaign focused on substance/policy not platitudes. Sign up and volunteer: stevenfulop.com Yard Sign: www.mobilize.us/fulopforgove...

I’m inspired by the rallies against these undemocratic actions. But let’s not end up on the side against transparency and accountable spending (these are things we want in NJ too!). I’m focused on the illegal power grab from Congress and vesting of it in Musk. And actual disruption / consequences

Let’s do this

Debating the merits of USAID spending distracts from DOGE intrusion of privacy (remember Uber God Mode www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/th... ?) and the rise of Musk, an unelected person, as maybe the world’s most powerful individual (still DJT for now). @chrismurphyct.bsky.social’s message is on point

$300M sounds good. 10% of NJT's annual budget. But only: 🛤️0.5% of the total funding for rail in the bill 🚉1.4% of the total funding Amtrak received 🚊5% of the total funding for Northeast Corridor NEC is the most highly trafficked railway in the US youtu.be/Q0tkWTtau2w

One candidate who has conviction about where NJ should go among many who want to add a bullet to the resume

Watching @stevenfulop.bsky.social stand out at the NJ Gubernatorial debate #democratsforchange #democrats4change

🚨 NJ political establishment passed a bill raising ballot petition signature requirements making it harder for challengers to run 🚨 Changing rules mid-election cycle is undemocratic. We urge @govmurphy.bsky.social to veto/delay the power grab. Read statement 👇 #DemocratsForChange #Democtars4Change

Rising gas prices and Trump dismantling wind energy, make for a good time to look at clean energy incentives: EV - Fed Tax Credit: $7.5k new, $4k used; through 2032 but likely term EOY 2025. - NJ Charge Up: $4k EV credit; $1.5k charger install - No NJ sales tax, phase out 2025

An amazing/huge turnout for another meet and greet!! These are growing and something is happening. We’re building a different type of campaign that doesn’t rely on the political bosses but rather focuses on policy substance + is direct to voters.

Another great crowd last night and these meet/greets are certainly growing! We’re running a different type of campaign that’s accountable to you + not the political bosses. We’re direct to the voters bc it’s your voice that matters. Join us + volunteer at www.StevenFulop.com

We left the start of a regional transportation plan on the table by not negotiating effectively with NY. We could have improved NJT and expanded access. gothamist.com/news/did-new...

POTUS can tilt at windmills, but in NJ we’ll continue investing in wind, solar, and EVs and extending nuclear to combat extreme weather events More on @stevenfulop.bsky.social ‘s plans: stevenfulop.com/wp-content/u...

My heart breaks for those who have lost their homes, schools, businesses, places of worship in Los Angeles. Praying for a quick end to the nightmare and know you will be back even stronger.

A real person, with NJ values, and a track record of getting things done

Some basics that @stevenfulop.bsky.social has laid out about our upcoming primary and election. youtu.be/YbPXtrgTBPY youtu.be/HPm_UgFUiJU

As frustrating as this is for NJ commuters, what it really highlights is our need to transform NJT into a public transportation option that lives up to its criticality to the NJ/NY economies.

The NJ Gov race - we are excited! Next week is the start of 2025 + we will shift into another gear. Many of the county bosses in NJ didn’t like much what we said/did in 2024 to set the stage bc they have monetized their positions. They don’t even know what’s coming in 2025.
