With congestion pricing paused, NJ can’t take a victory lap. NY is going to fight this in court. It was working too well for Manhattan (less so for other boroughs). We need to push for a revenue share now to invest into fixing NJ Transit. Riding NJT and the PATH shouldn’t feel like a death sentence

I want to thank President Trump and Secretary Duffy for their efforts to halt the current congestion pricing program.
While I have consistently expressed openness to a form of congestion pricing, the current program lines the MTA’s pockets at the expense of New Jerseyans.

Does the NJ Turnpike Authority give New York any money?
No?
Then why should the MTA give New Jersey anything from Manhattan? Especially considering it applies to EVERYONE who drives south of 60th.
Uses a Port Authority crossing into Manhattan, the PANYNJ get thier cut…
But then drives all over Manhattan for the day, and we’re just supposed to be okay with it, or have to pay YOU to be okay with it?
Not happening.
You want a funding stream? Put a tolled carpool lane on I-80 or something. Add a surcharge to the Turnpike express lanes.
Don’t expect a handout from another state “just because”
It’s our city. It’s our streets. It’s our money.
Don’t like it, take the train.
