I think when people compare ANNs to the human brain it refers more to the fact that supervised learning happens in similar ways as in humans. We learn by being validated or disproven in our predictions. Of course the human brain needs a lot less samples and is wired differently then ANNs.

Reasoning has gotten a lot better, check out Nvidias 70B Nemotron, ist has comparable reasoning to GPT-4o, while having a ton less parameters & it solves this test with ease. It should be available on huggingface.co/chat
